Ok gals. I figured someone here can relate. I gave my husband a card this morning and said, "Happy Sweetest Day Sweetie!" And he said, "Uh-OH." I said that I put it on all the calendars.(since they don't list it anymore)
He said, "I know you did, I still forgot." All of this was said in good humor of course because he's always surprising me with little gifts. And I do the same. It's an ongoing thing everytime one of us goes to the hardware we holler after the other one, "Buy me a Toy." So he went out to go to work awhile ago and ...came back in with his hand behind his back and said, "Hey, I did buy you a gift, the other day when I went to the hardware." He presented me with a rubber mallet.hahahahahaaha I said You got me one of those a couple of years ago. He said , Not This BIG! hahahaha I feel "special!" Can anybody top that? Oh...and HAPPY SWEETEST DAY, SISTERS!

What a guy! I had no idea it was Sweetest Day day today. Never heard of it. I sure hope you have a good one, though. And a rubber mallet is sure a handy thing to have around. I have gotten a wheelbarrow and a big yellow garden wagon from hubby.

Mine bought me a brand new weed eater for our anninversary a few years back. And I do mean it is mine he has never so much as picked it up! Really though to me that's better than something I won't use, gotta love him :)

I'm jealous, I love getting tools of all kinds, and them mallets have a problem with sprouting wings and flying away, lol.

This year, my Christmas list includes a cordless screwdriver/drill and an orbital sander. Not very romantic, perhaps, but totally what I desire!

I love practical gifts also. My DH & I were at a CSEA week-end meeting and everyone decided to go to the casio for dinner so I got $20. to play in the machine (I lost) and he brought my dinner. One of the girls with us won $2700. and another took home $150.profit. The 1st one spent about $500. that night and the other won $800 but spent most of. That is crazy. I didn't even like losing the $20. and it wasn't even mine. But he did say Happy Sweetest day when he gave me the money.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

Yes Teresa, I have quite a collection of tools now because of his "suprise gifts". We have "His 'n' Hers" tool boxes.(don't you dare touch mine unless you ask first)grrrrr hahaha
Oh...the saga contunues. I was tired and in bed when he came home last nite.So this morning I wondered if maybe he had a(more appropriate)gift for me. He usually makes up for it the next day when he forgets a "holiday." He didn't :( Wow! I guess after 3 years, the Honeymoon's over.Guess what I'm going to use that new rubber mallet for girls? lololol
And yes Diane, some folks are just plain lucky. And I'm glad he wished you a Happy Sweetest Day! You needed to be "sweet-talked."haha

LOL!

When my hubby & I were first married he bought me a REAL hammer. I had a little one in my tool collection. With him being a carpenter he thought it was the worse thing ever for me to have a mini one to use.

I'm so glad to meet like-minded gals who love getting tools(toys) as much as I do.Deborah, I love the pitchfork idea.hahaha And Deb, he bought me this cute "Pink" toolkit years ago just for fun with small tools. I'm glad to graduate to "Real" tools now too. hahaha
