My sister and I took Mom up North to see the fall colors last week.
We were about 120 miles from home when the motor home just died. On the middle of the expressway in a construction zone with orange barrels everywhere.
The tow truck took us to the nearest town, Mt. Pleasant, and a garage called Metro 25.
The young guys at the garage were the sweetest ever. They discovered it was the fuel pump but couldn't get one until the next day so they let us hook up our camper in their parking lot overnight. They all assured us it was as safe a neighborhood as it appeared to be.
One of the guys even drove across town to get us a converter for our electric.
The next morning, about 9:00, a couple of the guys politely knocked on the door and told us that the part was in and they could make the repair.
All of them went out of their way to be nice to us. One of them even brought us a local phone book the night before in case we wanted to order carry out. They made sure we were warm.
All in all, it was a great experience. I think they thought that we could have been their Moms as most of them were my son's age. Mid 20s
Once they got things fixed and sent us on our way, we called and ordered pizzas to be delivered to all of them for lunch
Oh, and the repair was pretty reasonable, too.
Just did dmy heart good to meet such nice, hard working young guys . Wish I could tell their Mommas .
The rest of the trip was great

That is so nice to hear! You know what you should do? Write a letter to the editor of their local newspaper and let them know what an excellent job they did and how they took such great care of you all! Hopefully their Mommas will read it and the boys would be so proud!

Great story Michelle. Who says yankees are cold and impolite??? It must be those Michiganders. We had a blow out near Houghton Lake this summer and lady and her son who were coming to town to pick up pizza, took my husband to the nearest garage and brought him back in her air conditioned car so my husband didn't have to walk anywhere in the heat. Love those moments!!!

People so need to hear stories like this right now with all the pain and suffering in our nation!! I think writing a letter to the editor is a great idea. Their boss would love it, their moms would love it and of course they would love it. Not that that is why they did it. And yes Michiganders are a special lot. I am from Michigan myself originally and honestly feel that the people there are a special lot!!!!!!

There are still good people in this world, its a shame that they are so far and inbetween. I second the idea about the newspaper, thats a great idea.

Michelle, that does does my heart good to hear about young men like that. Just when I thought all young guys were horribly bad mannered. I sure needed to hear this. I am so happy you had such a good experience. Thank the Lord for well raised guys. Their parents should be applauded for doing such a great job.
