I have been looking for a spinning wheel to learn on but could not find an affordable one. Well...my Mother told my sister, whose DIL is a spinner and fiber person (she raises Angora Rabbits and Fiber Sheep) anyhoo--Jody the DIL said well I have one someone gave me and it has been sitting in the corner for two years now so MB can have it. YIPPEE!!! My sis lives in Canada and was going down to Oregon and just dropped it off yesterday. I am so happy. Jody said it was just a good beginner type---so this beginner will try to learn.
Suggestions you spinner out there?

Boy MB that is some present.Do you know someone that can teach you how to use it? Do you have a chair to sit on that will work with it? Can't wait to see what you end up making.

Wow that is totally cool. Enjoy your new toy. I would love one also but I don't have room and I spend to much time on this site if I had a spinning wheel my housework would never get done.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

How neat! I am so happy for you! When are you goung to get your critters now? You know that always comes next.

I have the spinning wheel my greatgrandmother used to make clothes and socks for her family. I inherited it from my uncle. I had sheep at the time. Anyway, had it put together and had it up for a while but have 3 grandkids who won't listen to me and now it's back in the box waiting for them to either grow up and move away or start minding.

I hope you enjoy yours and will be spinning away in no time.

Kris

Hi Marybeth!

Congrats on your new spinning wheel. I got a Kromski Minstrel castle wheel last year for Christmas, and am still learning, but getting better. There is a great book that I found very helpful called "Start Spinning: Everything You Need to Know to Make Great Yarn" by Maggie Casey. I got my copy on Amazon.com for around $15.00. It has very easy to understand instructions and lots of good photos.

Keep us posted on how you are doing with learning!

Hugs,
Luanne
