the old readers digest book "Back To Basics" is also a good resource. it has a broad range of topics in brief overview, so it is not an infinitive resource but is a great jumping off point.

even my kids adore the Back-To-Basics book. my 11 year old keeps it in his treasure box beneith his bed...its an icon of the life we are trying to get back to. next time, we are doing it on our terms and never turing back.

I love the Back to Basics book, and I am often referring back to it when I'm either working on something or planning something. I haven't gotten the new Mother Earth News yet, but I'll look for it today while I'm in town.

As for Mother Earth News, I never really got into that magazine. I was and am a huge fan of COUNTRYSIDE. I let my subscription stop when I moved off the homestead, it made me cry to read it, but I'm thinking of ordering again.

I LOVE Countryside! Seems to be a little more "real". Although, I do get Mother Earth and Grit too! Guess one can never have too many homesteading resources!

I keep hearing about how great Countryside is. I think I need to check it out soon! Maybe the library would have it? I haven't seen it around in stores.

Connie,
Backwoods Home and Countryside both have lots of their articles on line- http://www.countrysidemag.com/ and http://www.backwoodshome.com/index.html
Have fun reading - I get lost their and spend way too much time reading.
