Hi All,
My name is Kiva Rose, I'm a student of Susun Weed, currently taking her ABC of Herbalism course and writing a column for the Wise Woman Tradition blog(www.wisewomantradition.com). I'm also fulfilling my dreams as an herbalist (Bear Medicine Herbals) and Priestess/Guide of Animá(www.animacenter.org). I teach a course on Plant Spirit Medicine, train apprentices and open my enchanted canyon home for the Plant Spirit Medicine Gathering (May 12-14) here in magical New Mexico. I'm also an author, and you may have seen my writings in Sagewoman, The Beltane Papers, Santa Fe Sun Monthly, Desert Exposure or Weed Wanderings.

I've been in love with gardening and organic living since I was a small child, and had my first garden at six or seven. As a wild teenager, the plants kept me grounded and close to Mama Gaia. And ever since I became a mother, I've been seriously studying and pursuing the study of healing with weeds. I love talking to other women about healing, homesteading and herbal studies! And I'm so grateful for this new oppurtunity.

Green Blessings,
Kiva Rose

Welcome Kiva Rose! While I am a longtime resident of Iowa, I was born in Albuquerque and grew up on a horse ranch near Roswell. I am so glad to see you have joined us. You will find a whole host of women with similar interests and concerns. For me it's been sort of like finding my lost sisters. I love our Iowa farm but I often miss the deep blue, wide open skies and warm weather of my birth place. There's something very special and spiritual about the NM desert for me. Most of my family still live in NM so I do get to visit each year. I am an organic veggie gardner too. I also have recently taken up homemade soapmaking in which I use natural herbs, plant extracts, plant oils and clays for coloring and scent. Glad to meet you and I look forward to getting to know you.
Hearts and Hugs,
Jane

Welcome, Kiva!

WOW! What a wealth of knowledge you have. I've been interested in the benefits of herbs and natural medicines for about 12 years......since my first child was born. It's amazing how having kids makes you want to be 'natural'. But, my experience goes only as far as helps for colds and earaches. I certainly look forward to chatting with you!

Blessings

Hi Kiva,
I used to live in Moriarity which is basically a stop sign off route 66 on the way to Abequerque. My aunt lived in Santa Fe until last year when she moved to AZ. Spent a lot of time crossing "The Devil's Backbone" going to see her :) I just adore Susan Weed's books! You are a lucky lady to work with her. I look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Kiva, welcome. New Mexico is a beautigul place, never lived there but spent alot of time there & in Arizona in the early "70's". I want to take a trip out west again, my husband has never seen it. I understand it's pretty built up since I've been there but it's still beautiful I'm sure.
