I was just wondering how many of we farmgirls out there use clothespin bags?
I use a really cute one that my Mom made me for my birthday with a bumblee on it..Too sweet!
How about you? Do you use one or even maybe you hang clothes out but don't use a clothespin bag? :D What does yours look like if you do? :)

I do hang some of my clothes on the line. My clothespin bag is a Walmart plastic bag. I haven't gotten around to making a real bonafide bag that can be placed on a hanger. However, your bag is so very cute.

I'm wanting to make a clothespin bag one for me for the future and one for my mama and maybe one for my sister. Though we do hang out clothes on the line...the clothes pin bag that we use is on that can be hanged but it is store bought. I haven't yet found a bag pattern I like... I need to start looking around could be a christmas idea!

I use a clothespin bag. I have a plain, natural-colored one that I think is calling out for some decoration!

My clothespin bag is a toddler size denim jumper I got at a thrift store that has cute pink flowers embroidered on it. All I did was sew the bottom of the jumper closed and put it on a swivel style clothes hanger and then hung it on the clothesline. It holds hundreds of clothespins.

I hang clothes out as well, I find myself just throwing most over the line ( lazy hugh? ). For the smaller items like socks and my undies ( small? hee-hee ) I use pins but my bag is also store bought. Debbie.. I love that idea how cute, maybe I'll be on the lookout for something similar. Jessie.. how did you know that's what I was doing? Hung out the clothes then sat down for a late lunch with you guys.

I think the one that Mom made me was a store bought bag, but she embroidered the sweet bee on it. :D I just love it to pieces. Its get so much use, I'm afraid I'll have to put it away before long to preserve it..hehe ;)

Too sweet, Karen! I love it! Doesn't Aunt Jenny just do the sweetest patterns!?! :D

I don't have a clothesline anymore. :( I plan on getting one again though. But my clothespins are in my laundry apron. I made my apron from the seat of a pair of jeans and made a big pocket that slips in above the jeans pockets.

You know Jessie maybe someday a swap will come up for these like the Holiday Apron. I bet they would all be as cute as yours and all the others mentioned here.

that sounds like fun. ;) I know the girls were talking about patterns for them on tipnut.com on one of the threads so that would be a good place to find a pattern for it, even though I am kinda partial to the store bought ones from Ace Hardware. nice and durable :D

I don't have a clothesline any more, but now I want one so I can have a bumble bee clothespin bag...It is so nice, and how sweet of your mom to make it for you.

I made the clothespin apron on page 216/217 in the Ideabook/Cookbook/Lifebook. It went together very easily and I just love it! It goes everywhere I go so no more putting clothespins in my pockets. However, it doesn't have any cute embroidery on it like yours Jessie.

I used a childs apron as the clothespin bag, until it fell apart. Then I won a lovely clothespin apron and wear that when I'm hanging things out. My latest habit though is to just leave the pins on the line all the time.

When we built our home 8 years ago with Habitat for Humanity- one of the very first things I did was put my mailbox and a clothesline up. I would love to have a clothespin bag, but my clothespins are in an enamelware bucket with a red wooden handle- it works but it gets a little hard bending each time- but it works!

I hang my clothes out but the pins stay out there on the line. Is that bad? I guess I'm just lazy. I would use a clothes pin bag if I had one. I'll have to look for a pattern, too.

Id do the same thing, Kris, but I find that with a lot of my lighter colored clothes, that they get black marks on them when the clothespins have been out a while. That doesn't happen to you?
hugs :)

I keep thinking about making one, but haven't yet. I use an old metal hanger from a hanging flower pot to hold an old wicker basket on the line. I love the kids overalls idea and of course the embroidered ones you gals have are adorable!

I do. I have a vintage one that is hardanger embroidery work. I also have an apron with to big pockets on the front that I use. My new house didn't come with a clothes line. There will be one at least by next spring. I miss the smell of sheets hung outdoors.

I make them from children' jeans. Cut the legs off and sew shut. Found some cute, colorful, braided belts at the one dollar store to sew on for shoulder strap. Used wonder-under to add appliques. They are really cute and can either hang on a nail or over your shoulder while you hang things on the line. Wish I could add a picture but only have dial up connection. Janneane

I love the clothes pin holders. Here is one I made from a purchase during Farm Fair 2009. It was a dishtowel I bought for $1 and used an old wooden hanger.

I have an old dishrag clothes pinned to the side for wiping down the line before hanging clothes out. Gets the dust off!
