Is the contents the same for all the soap just the smell difference. I have never made soap really don't want to start just have found that while on vacation I used store bought soap and I broke out. At 55 pimples are a real pain so from now on I will have a supply for vacation. But I was wondering what it is that makes it so different?
And to tell Melody (By the Bay)again how much I love her products. Ladies with teen age daughters ought to get them on it too. I have given both my daughters some and they are seeing a difference.
Diana - the natural glycerin is a lot of what makes the difference in handmade soap. When commercial companies make soap they actually strip out the natural glycerin and sell it as a by-product. Regardless of what the commercials say, there are very few good things in commercial soap. What probably broke you out is the fragrance in the soap. The base ingredients in soap are pretty much the same. Each soap maker will formulate a recipe from those base ingredients by adding oils, butters and other ingredients that are beneficial for different skin types. The ingredients, and the quality of those ingredients, are what make a huge difference too.
Melody does make the nicest soap! We swapped soaps and I just loved her lilac scented soap.
I make soap using vegetable oils and lye. It is lots of fun and it works wonderfully on sensitive skin. I also use essential oils for fragrance. Anyone up for a swap? Let me know! Lucy
