I have been reading MaryJanes magazines for the past year. I love them and can't wait to get the next issue. I just bought her book yesterday and was so excited. Thank you so much for helping farmers all across this country. You have really bought a new pride in being called a farmgirl.

I grew up on a big farm here in Tennessee and my husband own organic farm just north of Nashville. We operate a small CSA and do two farmers market a week. We also have a on-farm market. My husband and I have a three year old little boy who is truly the light of our lives.

Again thank you MaryJane.

Welcome Peggy ! I think TN is a very pretty state too. My BIL and his famliy lived there until just recently. I wish I had a farmer's market or co-op close by. I look forward to seeing you around the forum. Julia V.

I'm new myself. You're living my goals! I'm hoping soon to open a CSA in our neighborhood...the closest one shut down 2 years ago (they had another baby). It's great to share with people who have the same drive....seems everyone here does! Hope to learn more.

Nice to meet you,
Erin

Welcome to the forum Peggy. I am new here myself, but wanted to send out a greeting. TN is such a beautiful state. We visit there at least twice a year, I have friend who lives in Murphysboro (sp?). My friend and I enjoy the antique stores in the area. I can't wait to get to know more about you and your farm.

Elizabeth

Not how long, but how well you have lived is the main thing.

Welcome Peggy!
I'm Jane from Iowa. We have an organic veggie farm here too. And a large collection of extended family...ducks, turkeys, chickens, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, fish, cows and a farm pig named Dora Piggers. I probably forgot someone in that list. LOL Glad to have you with us.

Hearts and Hugs,
Jane

Peggy, WELCOME!!

I would love to hear more about how you run your CSA and farmers market. How much land, any particular veggie focus, membership fees, etc... There are no CSAs in my area and I would love to try my hand at it.

I look forward to chattin' with around the Farm.

Blessings
Catherine

Hi Peggy,

I would also like to hear more about your CSA & the farmers market. Would love to see some folks around here do this. We do have some nice farmers markets, but would love something more local. Welcome.

Welcome Peggy! I love Tennessee, especially the Nashville area. I get there about once a year with friends. We yard sale our way through Murfreesboro and Franklin and then on to Nashville!! It is always a blast! Please share more about your farm.

Hey Peggy,

From one Tennessee girl to another, welcome! What kind of products do y'all sell on your farm?

This forum is a unique place with so many amazing people who have special stories and hopes. It's been a fun place to reflect and learn as well.

The magazines and books are wonderful. I loaned mine out a couple of months ago and I think I may just be getting it back soon (you see how others get absorbed in it, too!) At the risk of sounding like a bragger, which is not my intention, I was very honored to have an essay published in this most recent issue. Everyone was so gracious and supportive about it, and as I read the other stories, I recognize a common thread of experience and hope.

Again, Peggy, welcome!

Cari

Hello, Peggy - it sounds like you have been a farmgirl for quite a while, now! I just know I'll learn plenty from you while setting up my own farm. I'm so glad that you found the 'Connection - I think these ladies are already "kindred spirits!"

XOXO, Libbie

Just wanted to add my welcome to everyone elses. Do you sell somewhere on Sundays? Not this Sunday, cus I'm heading up Frannie's way in KY for Art in the Alley. But next Sunday (the 11th) I am coming to Nashville to pick my mom up at the airport. If you are selling fresh veggies somewhere, I would love to come and get some and meet you.

Hello Peggy! Look forward to being in your neck of the woods here soon. I've never been in TN but will be traveling to visit my aunt and cousin who live in Opelika, AL this summer. My cousin will soon be moving to Nashville to go to school at Vanderbilt. I'm looking forward to getting to visit her there. Hopefully I'll run into some other "farmgirls" while I'm there! Glad you're here~I'm sure you'll enjoy it! ~Cherri~
