Wanted to warn everyone about something that popped up on my computer yesterday. It's called Windows Police Pro and it pretends to be an anti-spyware program you can purchase and it's showing you a trial demo. But in fact it's a trick that at once locks up your computer wanting you purchase it. Hubby has worked for hours with our real anti-spyware programs to get rid of it. In fact he is still on my computer working on it (I'm on his now). It even will tell you it has been uninstalled when in fact it has not. Clever program.
I don't know where I picked it up, I haven't gone to any new sites, or opened anything I thought suspicious. Ugh!

THANKS! I have not have it happen yet, but better be fore warned
I had something like that happen with WEBSHOTS, the latest one. I had installed it myself because i used the older version some time ago and really liked it. BUT now I can't use Incredimail, I can get it uninstalled etc. tried mailing with the company but HAHA ofcourse no reply what so ever. Still have it on the puter and it is not good.

I will NOT take the puter to the "hospital" (can't afford to AND my puter is an "oldie" so to speak) I can manage with out Incredimail and just have my SpyWare Doctor and AVG anti virus thingy working all the time. SEE I am SUCH an expert DUH !!!(not)
I might have to safe up for a new puter one of these months, knock wood

Well, sorry to say this virus was really somethin'. We couldn't get it off the computer and it just froze up everything.
So now its at the computer hospital for some intensive care treatment. The tech said this was the second one he had seen, and that it's a new virus going around.
I'll let you know what he finally says he did about it (it's gonna cost,I can just feel it, but I love my litle 'puter)
