I have windows vista so I'm not sure if it's the problem or what. But when I click on something the little circle will start moving and it takes forever to go to what I clicked on. Sometimes it freezes up. What is wrong with my stupid computer? We have DSL so I don't know what could be causing it. Please help! I'm not very computer savy so I have no clue!!!

It sounds like something is either slowing your internet connection or your computer. I would suggest running a defrag on your hard drive, and doing a speed test at www.speedtest.net Mine does that at night when all the kids from school get home and log on to the internet!
Are you left clicking, or clicking with the wheel in the center of the mouse? If you click with the wheel in the center of the mouse you will get a circle with arrows that navigate up and down the screen. Simply left click and it will go away.

Have you tried running the speed test? Also is it always on one site or on random sites? It could also be a problem with the site itself- IE It is having lots of visitors at that moment so the bandwidth is being used up and that can result in longer load times (the annoying circle).
I have that happen with my computer too which also runs Vista. If you have done speedtest.net and defrag- then I think you have done all you can do and just have to be patient for those sites. Sometimes it helps if I retype in the address or refresh the page. Sometimes it works fast then.
No I forgot about the speed test. I'll do that in a few minutes. It's does it on everything not just specific sites. Do you think I should do a virus scan or install something like FireFox? Just wasn't sure if it's trying to get a virus or not.

It could be possible. I am not sure. How many programs do you have running down in the lower right hand corner of your comp? If you have more than 1 or 2, then that can be slowing down your computer too.
I had that exact same problem Tammy and it turned out to be my modem (and I NEVER would have figured that out on my own!). I got it replaced and haven't had the problem since. Di
I would also suggest to look at startup options for programs and things that automacally run when ya turn it on (programs in the background)...you can go look at it and possibly uncheck the square that has it running default. That helped me alot...but I have an older version of Windows but the option should still be there. It's just running slow and locking up just means it going too slow. Clicking on refresh could be also all ya need...sometimes it's all I need to do.
