C definitely C since they really don't hurt anything and I'm sure they don't drink much anyway. If it was a bigger bug like say a fly then I would say B because I've heard about those fly germs and I just can't fathom drinking after a fly has washed his feet off in my coffee. Did anyone watch A BUG'S LIFE?

C for sure
Happens all the time...no biggie. Hate to loose a decent cuppa joe (or in my case diet pepsi) to a little bug.
Better than sucking a dry one in. That's FAR more rude |

Wow, looks like we definitely have a majority going with C. That is what I did, too. I'm not sure where I draw the line as to which bugs are too gross to go on drinking, but a gnat sure doesn't bother me too much.
A few days ago my BIL and his wife were at a cookout and my SIL looked down and saw a gnat or some small bug had flown into the cheese on her hamburger. She started whining to my BIL, so he just looked at her, picked up her sandwich, and took a big bite that included the bug. She then threw a little fit, swearing at him in disgust. I'm guessing she would have chosen "B".
Michele~ I like how you have a distinction based on the beverage, but I think mine would be opposite of yours. I would think, surely the alcohol in the wine killed any bad stuff that came in with the bug. |

I would have to say C. I made the cup of coffee for me, not the gnat! Also I would always save the glass of wine and toss the gnat :)
Take care, Melissa.

Throw out coffee!? NEVER. The gnat goes and I down my joe with a smile on my face. LOL!

#3 if its still hot and good coffee. To be honest I have had some that I would like to throw out on the first sip. Then on the other hand I have had some that I didn't know when to stop drinking. Bugs don't bother me too much though.

If my cup is one third full, it's probably cold anyway. I'd "B", and pour a new cup. I usually make enough for three cups and keep it in a thermal carafe.

C pull it out, no sense is wasting good coffee and they are pretty small so...., and knowing how observant I am I probably wouldn't see it anyway Rae

What a fun poll! I love your story Toni, about the sandwich.
I guess my "no gnats in the wine" comes from making wine, where just one little fruit fly going in for a dive can spoil the batch. Of course, that's at a time when the alcohol content hasn't built up. Hmm. Maybe I should reconsider my swimmers in the finished product? :) Nah.
We make a difference. |

C. except I would use a spoon because I have my grandmother's Polish hands, wide fingers that cannot get a little gnat out of coffee.
