For all us cooks I have found a great website. I was reading a lovely blog and she was talking about this website:

http://digital.lib.msu.edu/projects/cookbooks/index.html

There are a LOT of vintage and antique cookbooks there, which you can download. It is from a University website and just online. So NO copyrights etc. (as far as I know)
I myself loaded these, they are great, with wonderful recipes and articles :)

THIS one is for the FRUGAL housewife :)

This is a GH cookbook

http://digital.lib.msu.edu/projects/cookbooks/books/chocolate/choc.pdf
And here is a Chocolate and Cocoa cookbook.

The pictures in the last one, look so YUMMO and I am not even a chocoholic, lol. They DO take some time to load, and you might have to scroll down a few pages. ENJOY!!

Hugs from Marian/Dutchy, a farmgirl from the Netherlands :)

They have a wonderful collection- both online & in their special collections area in person. Its my alma mater from my Master's degree and I still live in the area. A few years back, they thinned out some duplicates and other cookbooks they no longer needed and sold them at the university surplus store (think never ending garage sale for anything & everything any & all university departments might have once used). I was stopping in every chance I got, especially when they were selling the vintage cookbooks $2 each or 6 for $10, with new ones being added every week or so. Needless to say, my cookbook collection expanded a lot-lol

Thanks for the link, Marian. I certainly will enjoy looking at all it has to offer. I so enjoy cookbooks, especially old ones.

I love old recipes - it reminds me so much of the time spent with my great grandmother. Thank you so much for sharing this site. I'm sure I will be spending a great deal of time visiting it.
