what are some of you fave movies that feature country life or farm living?

I just watched Baby Boom with Diane Keaton... it's one of my all time fave country movies!

and i definately recommend New in Town with Renee Zellweger... totally cute!

I love Paulie Shores in Son-In-Law, even though they messed up the airport scene.

Growing up in the eighties I would have to go with Footloose. The scene where they played chicken on the tractors was unforgettable. My mom always had horses when we were growing up so Man from Snowy River was always one of our favorites too. And one of my kids all time favorites is Babe.

Fried Green Tomatoes for SURE!! I LOVE that movie!

I've recently been watching Cold Mountain and Lonesome Dove. I've probably seen both 100 times, but I love them so much.

Don't laugh, but the Hannah Montana movie was a good one! And Flicka. I love that one. Then I watch things like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, which I guess isn't a GOOD country movie, but it's a fun one!

Yes I play the spoons, but I do it with perfectly manicured nails...

Oh, you guys!! ""Sweet Home Alabama" is for sure one of my favorites, and "Fried Gren Tomatoes" is too -- I've tried to sit thru "Cold Mountain" without breaking out in a hysterical crying jag, but that movie just tears me up!!

I'll remember some others in a while, but for now that's my short list...

Oh man. Sweet Home Alabama, and STEEL MAGNOLIAS!!!!!! I love Steel Magnolias. I mean, it's not "country-country," but homey and southern. And, Sarah Plain and Tall, Skylark, and Winter's End; The Painted House...... a lot of Hallmark ones.

My favorite is "The Egg and I". Is that showing my age? If you remember that movie, that is the one that introduced Ma and Pa Kittle. I'll not forget when Claudett Cobert goes to visit and they ask her to stay for lunch. They had to shew the chickens off the kitchen table. My Mom said that wasn't funny cause her Am Indian grandma did the same thing. She said not funny then, not funny now.

I really like the western John Wayne movies seen them all hundreds of times. Broken Bridges with Toby Keith,
8 seconds about Tuff Hetterman and bull riding and Flicka. When I was growing up they had a series called My friend Flika.

I just love all these movies. New in Town is really good. And I had almost forgotten about The Egg and I
I still love State Fair, made in the 60s with Bobby Darin(swoon) and pat boone. Not the greatest acting but a fun old movie

Gosh, I haven't seen a lot of those movies, so I guess I have a list now that I will have to take to the rental place!

One I really love is a Disney movie, really old (I think from the 40's? I think it was made about the same time as the Uncle Remus movies) called So Dear to my Heart. It is really a classic and features Jiminy Cricket animaation along with the live actors who tell the story of a small village boy raising a black lamb and taking him to the county fair. VERY, VERY heartwarming and one of my all-time favorites.

I love baby boom (diane keaton is awesome in any movie), that movie is inspiring. of course also fried green tomatoes, sweet home alabama, sarah plain & tall, little house on the prairie, places in the heart, loves comes softly.. (anyone ever seen the whole love series?) there are 8 movies now and I highly recommend them. They are awesome! I love movies from the 40's too- with all those movie stars, how beautiful they were. Country with jessica lange, the man in the moon with reese witherspoon, i believe it's her first movie- I love comedies too, americas funniest home videos.
