I am a beginning spinner and have been working with a rigid heddle loom and am ready to move on to a fairly large sized floor loom in good working condition. Would prefer a counterbalance with a minimum of 4 Harness, 6 Treadles, with bench and anything else you can throw in. I can promise your loom a good home and regular use. Needs to be within driving distance of SW Colorado, or willing to ship. I don't have allot to spend (about $800 tops), but I've been wanting to weave ever since I took a 'backstrap loom class' when I was pregnant with my first daughter. She is now 28 and I'm just getting started. I thought it would be good therapy in my recovery from an abusive husband. So, if anyone can help me out in my journey I sure would be grateful.

Blessings,
Teri

Teri hi, I actually do have a 4 harness Schacht floor loom that I am looking to sell. It has a bench & the loom is very sturdy. It's in mint condition. Im selling it because I already have another 8 harness in my living room along w/ 2 spinning wheels, table looms & many other peices of equipment. I was looking to sell it for around $800.00. Im in N.J. & It would have to be shipped but we can talk about that. I just want it to have a loving home and if this helps you recover from someones abuse, I'll be happy to help! If money is a problem, we can possibly work that out in payments. E-mail me & we'll talk, I'll e-mail my no. back. Michele

I wanted to let everyone know that I found my loom, with a bench and lots and lots of extra's thrown in...It's a deal too good to pass up. It's living in Arizona right now but will soon be in Colorado...not far away at all so no shipping because they are coming to my neck of the woods soon for a shoot meet. God is awesome!!!

Blessings to All,
Teri

Thank you KarenP & Michele,
I am very excited and my husband is closing in the front porch so I'll have a "room with a loom".. :) Anyways,, it's a 4 harness, 8 treadle, counterbalance LeClerc Mira with a 1" section beam. There is a shed regulator and 1000 all new texsolv heddles and new texsolv treadle cords and pins. There's three books that came with it and a bench. Included are the apron that was taken off the back beam to put on the sectional warp, a tension box, spool rack, 3 reeds, lease sticks and warp sticks. She's also going through her stuff that she hasn't used in years to set aside for me at no extra charge, including some other books.... All this for $700. I've seen pics of it that she sent me... it's a beautiful aged Maple and in excellent shape. I am such a lucky girl... She is getting a 'new to her' Sweedish loom and won't need this one anymore... Anyways.. the it's the best deal that's been offered and a bloody fine one at that... :)

Thanks for the congrads, I am terribly excited!!!
Blessings,
Teri

Hey Teri,

Funny you should be talking about looms. as I write my husband and son are trying to get my Union Loom out of my basement. I sold it about three months ago and am now ready to part with it. finished my last rug about 2 hours ago. I had to sell mine because I have RA and it was very often to hard to use. I,ve had the loom for about 8 years and bought it from a weaver who had had it for 60+ years. So enjoy and love every moment.

It is such great fun. I spin more then weave but have been really weaving alot more because I want to make woven rugs. I weave a sample on my frame loom/lap loom and then its easier to weave on my floor loom. The only thing I never liked all that much was threading it! But that is becoming easier now also. One of my favorite weaving authors is Osma Gallinger Tod, a wonderful teacher of weaving, she said "weaving is like painting and the loom is your canvas". We can do so much with color, texture, there are no limits. Enjoy and weave your threads of life.

I'm still waiting for my 'summer kitchen' to be built to set my HD T-6 up. Until then, I'm spinning away and using frame looms.
