I bought this last year at a garage sale, anyone have a guess as to how old it might be? I think its so cute, I keep it right here in my computer room.

We had one like that when I was a little girl (late 70s, early 80s). But knowing my parents, it's very likely that it was made in the 50s. |

It looks similar to one I bought for my daughter in 1980. It was and still is kind of rough wood, not smooth, and has the nails like that. I tried and tried to smooth it out, and painted the arms and the slats on the back with her name and flowers and other nursery rhyme things...I will post a photo on my blog if you are interested in seeing it, and comparing.
Yours sure looks cute! And may be a bit older than the one I have. Now I promise to quit posting all the same things you post! :)

Nancy, I have a rocker that would mirror yours. My ex had it when he was little and he was born in '61. Both of my children used it, and being the pack-rat that I am, I still have it. I'm hoping to pass it down to my grandchildren....way in the future. I love teddy bears, so I have one that sits in ours.

Nancy, everyone is right on the money. I got mine, exactly like yours when I was three. I am now 54. I still have mine. It's the only thing I have from my childhood. Great find as always.

Great find Nancy. I agree with Teresa. Looks like it's from the late 40's to mid 50's. Laurie
