I bought two soaker hoses at Walmart a couple of months ago and now both of them have holes that need patching. I would like to find some that will hold up. Do any of you have soaker hoses that have been a good purchase?

I purchased mine at Lowes. They weren't all that expensive and I have had them for several years. One thing, though, they do not stay in the sun well. My hoses are weepers, not the three-tube soakers. Works well with my tomatoes and also the raspberries.

It has been really hot here and I have moved them all over the place, so maybe that's it. I really never used them much before. My garden was laid out different and I just used the hose and a sprinkler at time.

Try the soaker hose that is made from recycled tires, last forever, mine are at least 15 years old, and they weep from all around so they can be laid any way.

where do you get them? I have never really looked for soaker hoses until this year and I don't think I have seen any of those.

Hi Sharlet:
My husband put some soaker hoses in the garden a couple of years ago. I noticed this year that some were splitting, I guess from the sun. Of course we did have a flood last year, so it could have been from the salt water. But, I do like the soaker hoses. It's so easy to water.

I think I got them at Lowes, they were more expensive than the others, but , they are outlasting all the others too.

I definately need a new plan for here. The garden is much bigger and the heat this year so bad. I just don't want to spend any more money on ones that won't hold up. I'm looking for the made out of tires next.

Marly are yours the round ones that are kind of hard to bend.

Yes, they are black in color and hard to bend. I think I had ordered them from some gardening magazine.

I bought two soaker hoses at Walmart as well this summer, and they didn't last long at all. I am really thinking about taking them back.

Hi Rhonda, I bet we bought the same one. I saw a different kind there that looked flat and made out of a nylon type material. I wonder if they would last longer? I don't know if I still have my receipts, but if I find them I'm taking mine back too.
