OK, so I drove 175+ miles today, saw 4 houses & took countless pics of properties over 3 counties!
So I come home, check messages, return calls & then start to try to come up with dinner ideas.
I had some leftover pork tenderloin & that was about it.
I am trying to low carb, but decided to add some good grains
So I get this idea to kinda do a barley thingee with sauteed celery, onions, sage, broth, mushrooms & add the pork & barley.
But I didn't have mushrooms
It tasted edible, but NOOO I had to add more Cr&*p
SO here comes the leftover kale & pinto beans
& then a huge tomato, & then some sweet mustard from a friends farm..
OK....YIKES... THis is what we have now!
Celery, onions, sage, barley, pork, kale, beans, tomatoes & sweet mustard????
BLECHHH!
Hubby ate it & said his famous line.. "I've had worse"
I told him to be sure to bring some extra Kleenex or TP on the 1 1/2 hr drive into work tomorrow.
Man I need to start planning my menus!

Ah Lisa..we have all been THERE I bet. When you are feeling creative in the kitchen, sometimes it is hard to stop adding stuff.

Oh Lisa, I have done this many of times! My brother is a chef and he makes it look easy, you know making fancy and flavorful dishes. It is however not so easy. I just stick to ordinary spices and foods now, as my son says "mom I like it when you home cook our food the best" (he's 5)

Oh Lisa, that's hysterical! You and Jus! He does the same thing, even adding when it's already seasoned perfectly! Personally, I like that you were trying to make it more interesting, and you know, he ate it, right? What a good man!!!!

Yes, he's a good man. And a smart man. And a real diplomat, too! LOL!

I must teach Ole Ron the phrase, "I've had worse". He don't eat anything that isn't just to his likeing. Yes, I do the same thing trying to use left overs. Bad part about that is when I come up with something that he really likes, I can't duplicate it. Tonight we are having T-bone steak stew. That was one that I did using left over steak and baked potato. We like it almost as much as the steak the first night.
