Hello, Hello, Hello! Is anyone still here. I know you are... so how are you doing? This heat has been horrible. I hope that everyone is fairing well. I had to pull out my garden so this summer I have been knitting and crocheting. What has everyone else been up to?

Wow! I haven't posted in a year! Yes the heat is bad here but I just got back from KY where it was 98 at 11am on Thursday last week. My thermometer here says 92 right now. It's funny that we are all knitting in this heat!!

The one and only...it took us way longer than usual to finalize her adoption due to myriad legal snafus, but we finalized just before Thanksgiving, and she's our girl now, by golly!
Oh my! I think it's been over a year since I posted!!! Hope all are doing well and surviving the heat! Praying for rain! JessieMae, Big Congrats to you!!! So happy for you!!! We've been busy with the farm and my farm market in the feont yard lasted for 1 1/2 years and now in the last week a friend and I "took the plunge" and opened a shoo in town (Glenn, MI). We're busy but having a blast!!!! I finally know what it feels like to love getting up to go to work:)

Oh just enjoy every minute. time flies with kids and it won't be long till she is all grown so let the cleaning go and have a wonderful time doing crafts and just enjoying each other!!! To your hubby too!!!
Great news, Jessie. Congrats to all of you. What is your sweet daughter's name? Post and tell us all about her. You must be beyond thrilled!!! I am so happy for you Michele
It's been a long time!!! Seems like it has been for all of us. Where did we all disappear to? LOL
Anyways, it's good to visit here again. I loved this forum and hope to get back on soon. We have had a crazy year. We moved into a new rental home last spring only to get hit by the big storm last memorial day weekend two weeks later here in Battle Creek. It was months of cleanup. We had 16 very large trees on the 1 acre of property here and now we have one. I began first grade (homeschool) with my oldest son, who has pretty severe attention problems, so that is what has taken most of my time for the last year. He is super smart and likes school for the most part. Kindergarten was much simpler, but he is fluently reading on a 2nd to 3rd grade level now, so that has helped tremendously in allowing him to be more independent so I can get other things done. Next year he will be doing 2nd grade and my middle boy will start kindergarten. AND I am expecting our fourth child at the beginning of December, so that will be an exciting twist in our homeschool household. The greatest news of all is that we are finally going to have a home here in Michigan. After 5 years, we have applied and been accepted into the Rural Development USDA loan program and I am getting my little farmhouse I have always wanted!!! It is 102 years old, but it is completely renovated and just waiting for its new family. It's on two acres in a rural area right outside of Battle Creek, so we are in the country, but still close to everything. The house is surrounded by flower gardens and vegetable gardens, fruit trees and berry bushes. I'm in heaven there. I can't wait for the sale to go through and for us to move in. We will be closing on July 20th, so if you all would keep that in your prayers, I would greatly appreciate that. I will have to post some pics once we get moved in. I know you will all love it! Congrats to you, Jessie on your new daughter! I'm glad things finally went through for your adoption! May she be a blessing to youand you to her!
Good to "see" you all again!

Jessie, congrats on your daughter! Wow, everyone has been busy. I bought a 1968 frolic travel trailer that I'm in the process of glamping up. It is funny that in this hat we are doing some type of yarn work....lol

Jessie, congratulations! Carly is beautiful and you must be so happy to have the adoption finalized. I'm also from Michigan and would be very interested in joining a MI group. Not sure what all I need to do to do that (I'm a noob, if you haven't noticed and still trying to find my way around here (:).
Thank you ladies. Question; Does the MI group have planned outings or events? I would love to meet up with others if so, maybe camping, etc.,? If there is such outings is there a specific place here on the boards where that info would be posted? I'm still learning my way around.
There are a number of different chapters here in MI. We're all doing our own activities. You'd have to find the group that meets nearest you to see what those gals are doing.
Farmgirl Sister #1706 You can take the girl out of the country but her soul will bring her back.-mlp
Where would I look to find out if there is a group near me? While I'm in MI, I'm also 5 minutes from the Ohio (Toledo) border so I wonder if I could hook up with some of the Ohio gals if there isn't any MI groups near me?
