Hi ladies.

Now that I am off for the summer....I was thinking about learning to knit.

Can you offer advice on where to go on basic instruction; websites, books....etc.

Thanks a million.

I used this website to teach myself how to knit! You'll have a scarf done in no time!

If you like videos this site has free videos!

http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/learn-to-knit

You can see everything from how to start knitting to advanced techniques. I taught myself from a book as a teenager (before the internet) but the videos really helped me recently pick up the pace.

Happy Knitting!

You are welcome, Connie! I really like that site because you can look at one illustration as long as needed and that really helped me figure out the stitches :D

Thank you so much for posting that link! I really want to learn to knit this winter and my youngest niece is waiting for me to learn so I can teach her! Sadly, I can't seem to find anyone living close to me who knows how to knit. I know someone has to have the skill!! Maybe they are just closet knitters. LOL!!

If your community has a local yarn shop, they are a great resource and many offer beginners classes too (great way to meet knitters).

Have fun, knitting is addictive :)

I order a lot of my yarn through knitpicks.com. They have an extensive video tutorial section too.
