Kathy, I am mailing you the postage in a separate envelope. Forgot to include it with the charms. The charms you have already received are beautiful!

ooh they are so pretty! What does everyone plan to use their charms for? I have never done a charm swap before. Maybe it would give me ideas for the next go round. :D hugs

Thank you so much for posting a picture Kathy. The fabrics look lovely and I now know that my colors are along the same line if not a little brighter. I am thinking of making a maple leaf quilt with my charms..or a tote bag. But really the ideas are limitless. A few years back a local quilt shop offered 6 inch charms of ALL their fabric in the store. What an under taking! I bought three sets and had close to 2000 squares and I now have maybe 30 left. I did gift some of them but most went into many, many projects. This is my first swap and I am excited to have a few more squares around the house...:-)

charms this size are also good to use for applique.' it's always nice to have an assortment of fabrics in the same color ranges because it causes more "interest" - more depth to whatever . . . like several different greens in a cluster of leaves is more interesting than using just one color. I actually need a utility quilt and am thinking of using my charms as they are just to piece together in squares to make a throw. FWIW

Jonnie, thats a great idea. Throw them all in a bag and pull one out at a time and just sew them together. I did that with the Pink charms I received. (but, I still have not finished the backing) Utility quilt for the back or trunk of your car? Just in case..
so ladies, we have about 5-6 weeks to mail these charms in. Lets all try to mail them early so I can swap them and mail them back in plenty of time. Now that I think about it, a utility quilt would make a nice christmas gift! Maybe but a flannel backing?

Thanks for the reminder. Mine are cut, in the envelope, money for return postage included and waiting in my bag to be mailed. I keep forgetting that they're in the bag. If I can figure out how, I'll post the photo that I took of them.

Jonnie, I have found things in my purse that I have forgotten about too. And going to the post office, it is not always as easy as it sounds.
Karen, Yes. Your charms are due to me on or before the 7th of October. I am hoping they are all in on time so I can sort them and then mail them by the 9th.

Kathy,
I just dropped tham into the mail. The postFarmchick said that they should arrive on Tuesday. I attempting to attach a photo of them [;-)] We'll see if it works. The one in the top right corner is a very rich dark brown.

Looks like I need to make the image smaller next time. Oh well, at least you can see them.

Kathy, my squares went out to you yesterday afternoon. I can only imagine what your kitchen table or floor space will look like when trying to mix all those squares up for us. A picture might make all of us smile at the organized chaos :-) Thanks so very much for taking the time to do this for us all. I enjoyed finding the fabrics and can not wait to get the squares back and put them to use. I saw a quilt in Shipshewana, IN years ago in a sweet little antique store and have not been able to get it out of my mind and I have decided to use the squares to make my husband a quilt. I have no idea the name of the quilt that was in the store but I do remember the tag saying it was from the 1920's and the cost was $880!!! In my minds eye it was worth all that and I thought really long and hard about taking it home with me (cause it really needed a loving home, right?) But then I thought about my husbands reaction and skipped quickly out the door. All this is more than you needed to know :-) Just know that one gal in Michigan is excited about this charm square exchange. Karen

Hi Karen! I received your charms on Saturday! Thank you
Yes I will post a photo of my kitchen table as I am swapping out the charms. As long as I am left alone, I am ok. But, I know I can bet on my husband to start asking a million question or needing something as I am trying to sort things out. I too like a simple patchwork quilt. but I would be to afraid to use an antique quilt. When you do make/finish your quilt top, please post a photo. Have a great rest of the weekend!
