Kathy, I've been quilting for about 15 years. I was president of my guild in Colorado for two years. I started out with quilted jackets and moved on from there. I was also a member of the Colorado Quilt Council, the state guild. I am currently a member of Lakeview Quilters in southeast Houston. I am also participating a round robin exchange with some quilters from the guild.

My favorite parts of quilting are picking the fabrics (working with colors) and stitching the binding by hand. I machine piece, applique' by hand and have quilted a few by hand. I mostly send them out to be quilted by someone else. I don't have a longarm and not much table space, so quilting by machine is difficult.

thanks for asking and happy quilting!

Karen, I have added your name.

Jonnie, Wow you are very active in your guilds. I am a member of the NJ state quilt guild and the ASG.
The quilt guild meets in the morning and afternoons during the week. So, saddly, I do not attend. But I do pay my dues each year.
My sister started me on quilting about 12 or 15 years ago. She knows I am crafty and like to work with my hands. I started with small wall hangings and very simple throws. I took a few classes and loved it. So now I take classes every chance I get. I love to go to shows and dream.
I find sitting at my sewing machine very relaxing and mind clearing. (just like riding my motorcycle. But with out the jacket and helmet).

Well I hope everyone is have fun searching for fabric. The weather is still very hot but before we know it it will be October.
Have a great week everyone!

Kathy,
I mailed my charms (for both swaps) to you yesterday. I put money in the package for the return postage- I sent 5.00- if you think it may be more please let me know so that I can get more sent to you right away. Thank you again for doing this. It was great fun shopping for fabric, bought a few more yards than I needed- but what the heck- we can ALWAYS use more fabric!! Have a great day!

Kathy,
I'm glad they made it to you and that you like them. It's hard to try and pick fabrics that the majority may like. Have a great day!!

Well I changed my mind and found 5 different fabrics last week. They are washed and ironed now I just need to cut the squares. Hopefully I'll get them in the mail by Wed. Kathy I can't find your address from the last exchange. Can you email it again?
Thanks
Mary

Sorry, I missed out on this. My computer was down and I had no way of checking in......maybe next time.

It sure sounds like a wonderful assortment of charms are to be exchanged. Have fun and I hope we get to see some pictures of the different fabrics.

Thanks to our kind hostess, Kathy, I'm get to swap Charms with all of you. Not sure what I will do with them, but I like the color theme. I was just looking at the Pink Charms from earlier this year. I still haven't used them, but I'm thinking about using them to make a diaper bag for my great-niece.

I finished my charms today, all washed and pressed. Spent yesterday morning at the local Mennonite quilt shop and got some really nice fabric for a very good price. Kathy please e mail me your address and I will get them in the mail this week. Looking forward to seeing the assortment that comes back to me later on. These swaps are such a great way to add to our stash!
