Debra,
I like my table loom too, but my mind keeps wandering towards whether or not I should get a floor loom.
What size and type is your floor loom?
I have been doing some searching on the 'net and trying to learn the different types of looms.
Currently I'm thinking a 36" counter-balance or a jack loom.

Can anyone explain to me what a sectional beam is, and how it works?

Thanks to all you here on the forum for sharing your wisdom.

Mine is a 47 in. weaving width, 4 heddle, 6 treadle jack loom. I enjoyed the warping process- of course it was only 80 ends . I think it is a good sized loom- you can do blankets, shawls, towels, table cloths, scarves etc... I can do scarves on the table top loom but I thought it would be a good loom to have continually warped for dish towels- they make nice gifts.

Hi everyone! I have a small table loom that I've had for nearly 8 years now. I have absolutely no idea how to use it. It has sat in storage this entire time..I bought it from a woman in her 80's who was both deaf and blind. Her sight was getting worse and worse and it was getting harder and harder for her to keep track of the colors and weave.. can you imagine? I have such great respect for her and want to someday learn how to use this thing. Does anyone in the surrounding Spokane area know where I can get connected to some weavers/teachers? Many blessings to you all. Julia H

You might try calling one of the fine yarn stores in your area. The spokane county extension service might be of help or your local 4 H club. Any body who raises sheep, goats or other wool producing livestock would be in the know too. Hope this helps. I found my group by asking at the library.

You are the best Eileen!! thank you.. I think this may be the perfect early Spring adventure. It will give me something to look forward to and distract me from getting out in the gardens too soon! cheers, Julia Hayes

Question for you weavers out there...
has anyone heard of J-Made looms?
I did some surfing but didn't find out much
I found one for sale on E-Bay, just wondering about them/
Thanks for any help.
