I want to make the freezer jam if I can find a good recipe. I'm supposed to use jelly jars for the freezer??? I have regular canning jelly jars but it doesn't mention freezer anything on the box. I feel really dumb. Can someone tell me, are there special jars I need to buy? Thanks so much for your help!

There are freezer containers that are plastic, with plactic lids just for these kinds of things, they are in the canning supply isle, by the way, not dumb, just never knew.

I use my glass jam jars for the freezer. Just leave enough head space as it will expand slightly in the fridge.

I would think you could also use pint size zip lock type freezer bags if space is an issue in your freezer.

I just use the recipe for freezer jam in the pectin box. You can use no pectin recipes too I'm sure but I don't like to cook my freezer jams. I use the jelly jars too leaving 1/2" head space just like the recipe calls for.
