Haven't really seen any posts about this
Anyone out there like to fish?
Was introduced to this at the tender age of 4. I still have that Zebco reel and rod somewhere.
More recently with the addition of a new co worker who also likes to fish, she and I go at least once a week now.
It's so fun.
She uses plugs and spoons, I still swear by worms 'n bobbers.
After last night, she may be singing a different tune. The fish were really biting....like as soon as the worm hit the bottom. It almost got to be kind of comical while she sat there talking on her cell phone, in the span of about 20 minutes I probably pulled in 5 or 6 fish, including 2 bass,. These were the 2nd and 3rd bass I have ever caught. EVER! Always a thrill!
And contrary to popular belief, you can work a bobber, set the line and play like you can w/ artificial lures. And not just sit there.
Toward the end it got crazy when fish were hitting like mad at a depth of 2 feet.
Must have had something to do with the rain from the day before and cooler temps.
OH! And I DO cheat and use a bait mate to kill the human smell from my hands. Guess it works! Pity I can still smell a hint of it this a.m.
My friend got a few hits, but didn't land anything this trip.
But hey, a bad day of fishing is better 'n a good day at work |

How fun! Do you eat your catch?
I love to fish. I've been fishing since I was a little girl too. Now I take my girls out. I'm a worm n' bobber girl myself. I can't deal with all those lures & casting. Guess I'm a lazy fisherman. :o)
We're headed out this weekend to a new river. Hope we can land some keepers. We're camping & canoeing as well.

I dont ever remember not fishing. I love to fish but dont get to go as much as Id like. I also love to camp too. I guess the perfect think is a mixture of both and throw in a little hiking and were set!

| I love to fish. We have some ponds here and one of them we stocked last year with channel cat. I can sit there all day and be has happy as a lark as long as I'm not food for the mosquitos. Congratualtions on the bass. We have some of them here too, but didn't stock any. Theya re more expensive to buy and we were just experimenting. I have a zebco too and its so easy to use. My grandkids use a lot of the time now. |

I love to fish, an' when we were in S.C., we'd go all the time. If noah had a day in school where he was caught up on all his work, the teachers would let him go home early..an' we'd go fish!
I haven't gone fishing for over 10 years..when we were up in the city, there were a lot of lakes..an' naturally there was a license req. for every blasted one of them...Way Over my Budget!!
So now I have to get either my drivers license transfered to here, or get an id so I can buy a fishing license here. I went over a couple streets to check out one of the little parks in the neighborhood, cause it's smack dab on the water, but it was closed!! Ack!! -- I was so irritated! Guess it's time to find another spot to go fishin' -- Sounds good about your evening out fishin'!!

| We just have to get one fishing licence here. Thankfully if we go to our own pond we don't need anything but bait and patience. We have some family memebers that have short attention spans. Buying a licence for them could be a waste of money. I can't wait till fall and we can fish in the day and cook on the campfire. It's too hot to do that now. It doesn't cool off here till after dark. |

If I had the patience to fillet and scale, some of the bigger sun fish, and for shure the bass would have been dinner! Bass caught thus far are about 12" from nose to tail. Sunfish have been about 2 hands wide. Almost too much for me to stand there and grab w/ one hand and try to free the hook with the other.
We fish on a lake that's on our zoo's property. It's very pretty.
I love it when the water gets still and frogs start to sing.
The main entrnace to the zoo has people walking over a 30 foot bridge over this lake. From up top, you can see HUGE large mouth bass and all shapes and sizes of turtles. There are some snappers that must be 16" across or more! One such turtle was spying on me last night. Kind of eerie when you look up and see a turtle's head with the beedy eyes poking out of the water and it's staring at you! Even the baby turtles will do this.

Those are good size fish. I would have been tempted to keep them too. We put blue gill in our pond last year with the channel cat and they are
still kinda small. We had some fish in there from before and some of them are quite large. We have always fished for bass or catfish here.
Your lake sounds beautiful. We pretty much rough it here. The pond(tank is the common name for pond here in Texas) is out in the pasture with lots of mesquite, oak an pecan trees to go through before you get there. We do have sort of a road through the pasture to get there. Have to use a 4 wheel drive when it rains though. There are three big pecan trees on one end and thats where we put the campfire and chairs. It is so quiet and peaceful. The coyotes and locusts serenade us the sun goes down. |

I love to fish. We have a camp where we go to fish, and I can fish in my own back yard (a lake). Of course, in the lake behind our house there is now alligators, thanks to the two floods we had due to Hurricanes Rita and Ike. But, fishing is such a stress reliever. I hate to clean the fish. My DH usually does that. I love to catch a big fish. LOL

I don't know if I love to fish, Or if I like to have an excuse to sit out on the lake, starring at the sky and
"daydreaming" until I am "awaken" by the tug on the line. I suppose it is more the latter. :)

I have fished all my life and LOVE it! The kids and I have usually gone fishing alot by now and havn't this summer yet. We will be getting some fishing done next week for sure. I need to get my new fishing lisence ..and payday is friday.
We lake fish here the most...small trout mostly. I can't imagine NOT fishing!

I wish I was "tough" like ya'll...I'm too chicken to put a worm on a hook or kill a live fish! Went "fishing" with Daddy and Grandaddy a few times when I was little - if you call that fishing. I had a Snoopy rod and reel, and my mom made me wear this big, bright green life vest that I called my "hunk suit" (after the Incredible Hulk, of course).

I love to fish. When we first moved out here to our farm my new neighbor came over and we went fishing at one of our 3 ponds. I had a cheap pole that I got at Walmart. We had so much fun. So for Christmas he gave me a brand new pole with a Zebco reel and a new tackle box. It was one of the best presents I have even gotten. He said I needed a real pole to fish with. He also said I needed to use punkinseed worms if I want to catch anything. Everytime I catch anything its with a punkinseed worm. If I try and use anything else I never catch anything.

| Been fishing all my life too! Now that I have arthritis in my hands, I use a damp cloth to hold onto the fish for a better grip, and file the little barb off the hook so I can remove the hook easier. Still love it. Got a nice bass on my first cast of the year a few weeks ago, yippee!We catch and relese mostly. and I also use an ultralite rod and reel combo with bobber and worm. Sometimes I even use my donald duck bobber! |

I love to fish! Me and hubby go out on the boat often and I just got to campsite n set camper up this evening and waiting for hubby to get here tomorrow. I really need a break so I'm ready to kick back! We're blessed a great campgrounds is just round the corner from us. Hardy Lake Campsite, they have a great campgrounds and lake. We like to catfish I use raw shrimp the kind in the bag that comes frozen and catch huge catfish all night! But I love to catch bluegill and would love to learn to crappie fish!

I like fishing too although for me it's a bit tough since I'm allergic to fresh water fish. If I catch one I have to have DH take it off the line since I can't even touch them. Still it's relaxing waiting for the strike then you get the heart pumping trying to reel it in! Oh, and we don't eat ours since I can't and DH doesn't really like fish. We are the catch and release types.

Never have heard of a freshwater fish allergy.
Do you get hives like w/ shellfish?
Very interesting.
Stil,, happy to know you can at least enjoy most all aspects of it!
Never have had opportunity for saltwater fishing. Have heard everyone elses horror stories of people getting sick. Am afraid all the sick people would ruin it.
I'm happy enough staying on shore or in a canoe.
