Nancy Jo shared a photo on her blog of the neat little sewing rocker she got at the thrift. So I thought I would share a photo of my old sewing rocker, along with a pillow from the famous Miss Wilma.

I also posted a second rocker with a pillow from MaryJane!

Okay the third and final rocker is on my blog. Go see! It has another pillow of Miss Wilma's.

Check my blog!

Let's see others!

Nancy Jo, you asked why they call them sewing rockers on my blog. Well, first of all they are usually small and low enough for a woman or even a young girl to sit in comfortably. Second, they usually have small or no arms, so your own arms are free to move and reach for scissors, etc. Plus, who does not like to rock and sew at the same time? And lastly, they are light weight, and can be put in any room, near the fire, and so you can move it around to sew in your place of choice.

I remembered two more reasons why they are called sewing rockers.....they can fit under a large standing hoop that many ladies had for embroidery, and small quilts or projects could easily drape on a lap and hang over the sides.

I love rockers and both you and Nancy are so lucky to have such sweet ones. I want to get one for my front porch so I can sit and rock away the summer :)
