This is a great idea. Something to do together with my children. It will help us to think about others. I think for the ones who won't use an apron maybe I'll use a nice kitchen towel, maybe an embroidered one or something.

I loved this idea when the thread first appeared, but didn't think of anybody off-hand, so forgot about it. Thank you for bumping it up and giving us a reminder...since the first thread appeard, I can think of TWO gals that I'll be sewing and baking for. What a great idea!!!!!

Wonderful idea ladies. I have worn aprons for 66 years. Why not send along a copy of Mary Janes Farm magazine too. Seeing all the fun pictures might be just as cheering as aprons and bread. I'm in.

Wonderful, Exciting News!
MaryJanesFarm has decided to send extra copies of back issues out to participants in this event. No more than two back issues sent per participant and you also have to promise to post a picture of your homemade bread wrapped in an apron about to be delivered with the MaryJanesFarm magazine! How exciting is that!
If you need help posting a picture, please email me (click my user name on the left hand side of the screen). I can help walk you through the process or you can even email me the picture and I can post it for you!

[ Hey Ladies- Can I ask a favor? I am passing on the names to the farm of the ladies that are interested in taking..."
Alee, I will be joining in the challenge by bringing an apron and loaf of bread to the gate guards at Fairchild AFB on my way to work that day. Don't know if they are allowed to have their photo taken at the gate being a security issue and all but it is nice to remember our soldiers serving away from home at the holidays. They always love getting home-baked goodies. Whether or not they're the type to wear aprons either they have wives, moms or girlfriends they can pass it along to I'm sure.

Thank you, Alee, that would be very nice! I will definitely take a picture. Gotta post it on my blog since I have one of Ellyanne's neat buttons. (I got to say hello to her last year at the Farm Chick's show and have my book autographed. She is sooo sweet!)

I just finished sewing my second apron for this awesome project! I'm using the vintage material from my Mom's basement (there's enough there to make a quilt from here to the moon!) to make them.
Alee,I would like to take MaryJaneFarms up on the offer for the extra back issues. Please add my name to the list for the farm. I would LOVE to share MJF with another couple of gals! Thanks

How exciting...three back issues in the mail from the farm today! Now I can Tie One On for three folks with the magazine. Thank you so much, MJ!
Woohoo!!!
PS, I know that MJ isn't seeking any publicity for this kindness but I'm going to include a note in each bundle saying that the mag. was courtesy of her anyway.

Me, me, me I will email you my address. Thanks for getting the ball rolling on this. If I start baking next week I think I could freeze several loaves and thaw them the night before. Michele

Alee, that is wonderful. I know the magazine is really an inspiration for me, and it will be great to be able to offer it to others! I would like to participate in the offer also. Now if I can just get batteries in my camera and figure out how to post a picture.

Question for you other Tie-one-on'ers: what types of aprons are you making? I have 2 weeks vacation and in addition to other things I'm gonna work on these too. Are you going for a unisex look or what? Heaven knows I have lots of fabric and patterns to choose from, maybe that is why it's so hard to choose. haha

Alee - would you add my name to the farm's list of participants? I would love to send a couple of MaryJanesFarm magazines out into the world of Sevier Valley. I know just who could use a "pick-me-up" of an apron and some homemade bread along with a magazine. What a great offer!
XOXO, Libbie
