Does anyone do this? A friend of mine does and it is just beautiful. Just wondered how many others do. or maybe you bought some stuff to do it and decided not to and would like to swap to get something else for it? Just wondering?

I'm with you Deb, clueless on brazzilian embroidery. I have heard of brazzilian waxes ( won't emphasize on that too much) and brazillian hair straighteners. I learn something new on here everyday.

Wow! I just checked out the samplers..The embroidery is beautiful! I think I have seen bits and pieces. But have never tried it. It looks very fine!

I've been doing Brazillion embroidery for about 25 years. The thread is the key to this beautiful art. Brazillion embroidery thread comes in several weights plus a rafia type. The flowers are a combination of bullion wraps, and cast on stitches. It is the twist in the thread that gives it such beautiful definition.

Blessings, Sheri

Sheri, can ya show us some of your work? Do ya need to know how to post pictures here? We can teach you if ya want. It's not hard but ya may have to have broadband speed on your computer.

It sounds like something I could do...I think I could get the texture on plastic canvas by altering the stitches enough. It looks like the thickness and texture of the stitches and layers are how it's done.
I wouldn't have to do all of the detail...but enough to make on needlepoint.

Hey Lorraine,
We found a few people that have done it. I wish too that they lived closer. Any one who wants to try could start like lorraine did and by a small kit. It has thread and the design and even the needle and the most important part the instructions of how to do the stitches. I think I may have to do that myself. I would like to try it but I am not so sure about it coming out as beautiful as lorraines do. hers are absolutely the best!!! I have one hanging in my front room...hehehehehe but I really should try it myself...
