The instructions are so simple...I haven't made slippers in years! Aren't they sweet? And oh so soft and warm!

Thanks Angela for all of the yarn!!!

I'm hooked. I can't stop knitting those cute little slippers featured in this months MaryJanes Farm magazine!!

I hate using inexpensive yarn for my creations but am poor so money is tight...I would like to barter soap, solid perfume, salve, or whipped shea butter in exchange for enough wool to make at least
4-pr of medium sized slippers.

any takers??

thanks girls!

Melody, I have quite a bit of yarn, I am not sure how much wool I have though. If I have enough I would love to barter with you!! Let me check it out.

Sounds good Angela....since I am doing slippers maybe I should stick with something other than wool...I just thought about that. I think they might shrink! Do you have any pics?

I will try to get some pics to you tomorrow. I will email them to you. I have one BIG bag of black and white mixed yarn, well the yarn is both black and white. You are welcome to all of that, and I will have to sort through the rest! Oh yeah and I have a couple of one pound skeins of green too I believe. I email pics of everything, however my camera is not the best.

Hi, did you get enough yarn? I have some that I'll never use. How much does it take for a pair? I have lots of different colors.

Well I bought one skein of yarn and I completed 2-pair of slippers and I think I will be able to squeeze another pair out of what I have left. The slippers are just darling and I add a vintage button along the side just like what Maryjane has shown in this months magazine! Let me know what colors you have Melody June and we can barter!

OH...I boxed your FO's this afternoon very carefully and they are ready to be posted!

Talk to you soon!

Melody I can't wait to see pics. I really loved the pictures in the new MJF magazine. I have got to learn to knit.

Ok Melody, so I had of that yarn I sent you to try to get cleaned up, sorted out and downsize my craft room right? Well, so my aunt stops by today with a belated birthday gift....a HUGE basket FULL of yarn....so guess what I started knitting and crocheting slippers too!!! Guess everybody will be getting slippers for Christmas this year! Oh and by the way, in case you don't already know this tip...to make them no slip, put thick dots of puffy t shirt paint on them and let dry....viola...no slip!!

What issue of MJ's magazine are you finding the pattern for the slippers? I have not got a new issue yet.

We will both have to post pics of our knitted slippers. I just love the gray yarn and have one slipper done (I gave my sister two pair)...complete with vintage buttons!! I love 'em. And, your right I know exactly what I am giving out for Christmas gifts!

Your Aunt is FUNNY!

Take care and have a "cool" weekend. We are headed up North for a juried soap show and are leaving here around 5:30 in the a.m. Wish us luck!

Take care, dear!

Isn't this great! WARM FEET come Christmas time....how nice is that!!

Lets post photos of our finished product. I actually completed my 3rd set today while we were vendors at a juried art fest about 3 hours drive from here. We got halfway there when I realized I left my favorite bamboo knitting needles in the front room. Had my bag, had the yarn, had one complete slipper, extra buttons, and no knitting needles. The first Wal-mart we came across I yelled at Bruce to "STOP" "I have to get #7 knitting needles before we go one mile further!" My DD hit the brakes bought my needeles and ended up buying a dozen donuts as well!!

I have been knitting a similar pattern for quite some time now. I sent Melanie a copy. No strap but they knit up quickly and I keep a basket by the front door for visitors. Even have some in a size 12 for my big footed son. I usually made them out of washable because they get so much use. If anyone is interested in the patters, email me.
