I was so proud of myself--I grew lots of tomato plants up on the top of my fridge in the springtime, got them used to the outdoors, planted them in the garden; they got trampled by cat/dog/rabbits/kids whatever; I had more growing, so planted more; some are growing okay, kind of spindly, but some didn't grow well. Anyhow, I did a major weeding tonight and found SO MANY volunteer tomato plants, sturdy, thick stemmed, with flowers on them already. . .even spaced pretty nicely! Of course, I have no idea what kind they are--I hope a couple are cherry tomatoes! Last year I had a bunch of volunteers that produced very nicely also! So. . .should I just not try those cool sounding plants-from-seed? With me, usually I say that Hope springs eternal :) and it IS nice to have stuff growing in the end of winter up on top of the fridge, but. . .hey, if it plants itself! I need to find something that cans itself too! Ha ha. |
