I have 2 acres in back, rectangle shaped. I have a compact utility John Deere tractor that has a brush hog attached to mow it with. Since tractors are too big to make tight turns like lawnmowers can, I am searching for an efficient pattern in which to mow, so that I'm not constantly going over the same areas again and again. There has to be some certain way to do it more efficiently, I would think that people who run combines and make hay would have efficient ways.

How about doing it like they do an ice rink with a zambonie up the middle and right to the edge coming up the middle just left of the first pass. Does that make any sense?
