The heat of the day is slowly ebbing, and the sky is heralding the approach of evening as the sun westerns. The farm animals and their young are waiting to be brought up from the field and are peaceful and even my rooster seems content to sit on the porch with the cats. Sometimes evening is just about right.

I agree. It seems like all souls calm down come evening.

Annika, you said that so beautifully! I too felt myself growing calmer just reading your words!

Thanks for the reminder Annika - sometimes I need to consciously slow down with the day

I think we all need to slow down a bit every day and just appreciate the now moments. The animals are my inspiration today.

You said that in such a way that I could picture your farm. Thank you for that small moment of serenity :)

Annika, that sounds so peaceful,I have decided that all work and no play is a no go.I have so many plants and flowers and really hardly have time to look at them. So we have decided to downsize big time. This year has been a hard one in Ky. So much rain. The plants grow good but as soon as we have a hot day they just wilt down. Take it easy girl hope to meet you someday

Thanks, Annika, for that sweet reminder. This week has really broken me, but I plan to sit on the porchswing for a little tonight with my girl, and my dogs at my feet and hopefully, that will make it all right with the world.

Beautifully said, Annika. What a word picture!
