I know that you girls know I am into the retro look. This past week I've found a few more sites to inspire me. I want one of those bathing suits so bad I cant stand it. My shape was made to wear clothes from that era. Another design studen and I are going to put our pattern making skills together and make one (I'm going to cut the hip a bit higher to flatter my shape a bit more). Enjoy the sites.

That is too cool! I actually just went shopping at a vintage store in Seattle and ended up buying a (lol) bullet bra, a girdle, as well as a front-lacing underbust corset girdle. I am so happy about all of them! I love vintage and these are all authentic wear-ready vintage undergarments!

vintage stores here are outrageous! i love to go in and look, but i never buy. there is one in particular that will charge $50+ for a damaged blouse and more for a used pair of triple H's than country boy paid new 5 years ago.

Oh, that's too bad! The one I went to is pretty reasonable, I mean, they definitely have expensive items, but I feel as though they are priced correctly (meaning they are authentic vintage and are in fabulous condition). The girdle I got was $20, and the bra was $16. Both are in perfect condition and are able to be actually worn, not just looked at lol! I was lucky! There are plenty of clothing items at the vintage stores that I can only look at though... Usually, it's because they are too expensive, or because women back then were just so much smaller than we are today! :)

I love this style, too, Corinne...my husband always tells me I should have been painted on a B-17 Bomber...I take that as a compliment! Especially with his love of WWII planes

The "ruched" look is sooo great for curvy gals. Puts all the emphasis where it should be. I also love the halter top style, because I'm not..ahem...tiny up top. It's very flattering, and slims the shoulder.

My friend, Kit, is a cabaret singer in NYC and looks alot like a red headed Betty Paige. I'll have to ask her where she gets her attire that she performs in, because it's H-O-T!

Corinne, where in North Carolina are you? I am from NC and I don't know any farmgirls that live near me.
I am from Milton, NC, up on the VA border, near Danville, VA.
BTW, great retro clothing sites. I collect vintage clothes myself, and am getting my stuff together for a vintage etsy store. I have boxes and boxes of it. I can't help myself, when I am in a thrift store an see a vintage dress for a few dollars, I buy it whether I can wear it or not. Just the other day I bought a pair of 1960's sunglasses with pink rhinestones at a yard sale for 25 cents. If you like retro, but don't like vintage boutique prices, try etsy. The stuff offered there is pretty cheap.

Ok gals, I love the undergarments too. But I really get a kick out of the clothes that some think are retro when I wore that kind of stuff. (Unfortunately I can't fit into it now) But they were cool. I love dresses, petticoats and cowboy boots! Have fun with whatever you wear. I do.

I love the high waisted capris/shorts. I wish I could wear that style, but my body type it would not be so flattering...fun to look though!
