My friend homeschools and uses the Abeka curriculum and today she was telling me she had tons of books (multiple copies too) that she doesn't know what to do with. I suggested she look into selling them but there are no local bookstores here and she doesn't have computer access. I don't even know if you can reuse homeschool books or if you write in them?? Are they something she can sell or barter or should she donate?? She homeschools and her husband is a minister so they are always pinching pennies and I thought I could at least ask for her.

Our state has a Homeschool Organization. Perhaps she should look into your state. This helps you connect with other homeschoolers in your area and you can share and trade materials.

I checked on ebay to see if there was any Abeka curriculum listed. There was TONS (1831 listings) but none of it had any bids on it. Perhaps it is not something people are interested in purchasing but it being summer it could also be that many people are selling their old curriculum.

Lorie,

Do you know what age/grade levels and subjects. I have a friend just starting homeschooling and thought I would ask for her :) She may be interested. She is also a Pastor's wife and trying to pinch pennies :)

I'd actually be interested in some of the lower grades, too. She could send me a list through snail mail or go through you through e-mail. Let me know!

I will get her to look through and tell me what she has and doesn't need I think her son is in 9th and her daughter in 4th grade.

She did say she had 13 of the Handbook for Reading books. I think she would be excited to barter or trade. She is like us and loves homemade things.
