I'm following a lead on a little camping trailer that doesn't look like it needs too much work.
It is owned by a young guy and he has partially restored it; although the leopard print upholstery will have to go bye bye.
Wish me luck as we are off to see it later in the week.

well, we changed gears completely. The guy with the vintage leopard could never seem to find time for us to see it. Maybe that's why it has been on Craig's list so long.
But.... we found an early 70s (think that 70s show) trailer about 30 minutes away. It is really ugly gold and green inside but its ready to roll and the price was right. So guess we'll have to glam it up while we're traveling. Just get me a can of paint and some fabric and we're off. I'll keep you all posted and will post pictures as soon as we get 'er home

Fun Michele!! I would love one of those trailers someday - right now we have a VW poptop, early 80's vintage that we just invested a considerable amount of money into so we will stick with that till we get our money's worth out of it.
I can't wait to see pictures

hey Michele,
that is sooo cool!
A lot of the gals in the Sisters on the Fly have trailes from the late 1940's to current...lot's of the gals like the trailers from the 70's cuz they are lighter and have more storage.
There is no such thing as an ugly trailer, just a diamond in the rough.
Have fun "Glamping"
hugz,
g

Weel, We've decided on a name for our new addition.
"Out On a Limb" because that's what we did when we decided to buy this baby.... we went out on a limb and jumped off.
Plus.. I am using a red and white Cherry theme so I think I may paint a cherry tree on the outside with some birds and bugs and maybe a fairy or two. oh, yeah, there will ahve to be a small gnome somewhere for luck

we are still working on the baby.
Got the interior all painted, thanks to some help from my son who showed up with fresh arms just as we were about to burn out.
We are camping in it, right now and are going to sew the curtains tonight. Pictures coming soon.

that is so cool! enjoy your lil trailer....I know I sure do...she still needs work but at least she is travel ready and campable.
The hub's & I plan to take her to Camano Island in Sept for a gathering of vintage trailer & SOTF friends. Just a informal get together.
Have fun collecting stuff for your trailers decor.
I have seperate bins with stuff sepcefic for each trailer...Vintage 50's & 60's stuff in truquoise & pink for the '63 Scotty and then I have stuff for the 1959 Aljo which is more victorian, roses & adarondack in style. Then I have a bin with stuff that can be used in both trailers. I won't even mention my Flamingo decor in my 20' Chinook mini motorhiome...like I said,,,,many personalities! lol! It takes longer to decide which one to use then to get where we are going.
I can hardly wait to see your pictures.....hurry hurry hurry....

So cool....I also am doing a cherry theme for my camper that I got back in February!!! Well, actually, Cherry, strawberry, and red roses..dolled up with curtains and bedding that are made out of hand embroidered vintage linens!! I found a woman that sells 40 lb garbage bags of vintage linens for $8!!! some are in great shape, others aren't....but at that price, that is where I came up with the idea for patch work curtains, table cloths and bed linens!!! $100 worth of hand embroidered linens can go a LONG way....like almost 450 lbs worth!!!!!!! My camper had a true Icebox that you put a block of ice in to keep your stuff cool...We stripped the old brown paint off and have already painted it "Cherry" red, and we left the chrome handle and hinges pretty chrome...just stripped that ugly brown paint off. i found a old 50's style hand held ice crusher that is baby pink!!!! And also found an old 50's style juicer that is chrome and white!!!

Even though we have a long way to go until she is done, we are making progress..we had to completely gut her and redo EVERYTHING!!! But I just keep telling myself "SOON!!"

Good luck with yours Michele.....lets see some pics!!!
