My dh has finally finished our small barn! (this project started 2 years ago? or has it been 3?) Stop by my blog if you get a free moment and check it out, I just love it!! All of the wood was FREE! (the best part!), the windows were tucked away in our big barn (under piles of treasures that no man can live without!)...any ideas to darken them and make them look old? Paint, stain? The door, dutch door - my favorite and the metal roof came from bartering with the neighbors (one mans junk is another mans treasure!) - the only thing we paid for were the nails and he hammered them all in by hand and cut everything with his chainsaw! It still needs alittle more planting around it and 2 hitching posts for our horses!

So...he just called me from work and asked if I was enjoying my new barn and asked what critters we could put in there - goats, chickens (the ducks are in there now but moving out this weekend)...a wonderful idea but I was thinking I'd like to move in there myself - hee, hee:)alittle cabin getaway! Then another idea, wouldn't that make a cute store? I have a feeling we're going to have the "who's moving into the barn" talk tonight!

It's beautiful, Melissa. It really is. No matter how long ago he started it, he sure finished it in fine style! And I think it would make a wonderful store!

I think you should definitely move in! It's really too nice for animals. ;)

Thank you Janice and Karin! I'm having such a hard time working today...I find myself wandering off to the window and dreaming of what I could make out of that sweet lil barn!

I think you need your own little retreat. Just imagine no phone calls, no one yelling MOM, or asking when is dinner done? I am jealous wishing I had a barn like yours. Tell you husband good job. Let us know if the animals or you won.

What a great little barn, maybe you could let the animals visit you there after a bit. I love the dutch door.

Oh Peachy! I love your barn. I know what you mean about moving into your barn. I was so happy when I could put horses in my barn. It isn't finished yet but you can bet your bottom dollars that is where you will find me if you are looking for me. Have fun!
