I just ordered from a great site with a huge inventory of vintage and discontinued patterns,it's www.momspatterns.com what brought me there was looking for discontinued historical patterns from Simplicity,McCalls',etc..my Husband and I do SASS shoots and I sew alot of costumes.
If anyone likes to sew things like the pantaloons and other old fashioned items from Mary jane's Farm they can find other patterns for vintage petticoats,camisoles,etc..I just ordered several lovely patterns for such things at this site as well as a pattern for an 1800's equestrian suit.
The lady who runs it e-mailed me right away after I placed my order and had it shipped early the next morning the next day,I got my order in two days and it was neatly packaged and came with a magnet business card, this gal runs a tidy business!
Anyways, check it out if you like old patterns!

Kathryn. thank-you for posting this topic. I think it is great to give feed-back when you shop. There are so many ways we can spend our money that it's nice to know where you can get good value AND good service.
Just curious, what is SASS?

Thanks Kathryn, I will check it out. I've thought about starting a business outfitting re-enacters, not just will period clothing, but with "personas". Hmmmm, maybe I should post this idea and see what the farmgirls think. :)

Hi Ladies!
SASS actually stands for Single Action Shooting Society (or Self Addressed Stamped Envelope,I'm going to make fun of those guys now :) and we attend the Old West or cowboy shoots where attendees dress in period clothing and compete shooting in "scenarios",with single action firearms (all live rounds),it's like a re-enactment and shooting competition altogether.
I don't actually shoot in them anymore but I do attend with my Husband occasionally and like to sew some of the costumes.
Teresa there is a demand for people to sew period costumes for these kinds of events, not everyone is adept at sewing and so I've made a little egg money sewing bib shirts and prairie dresses for other people and for years I made deerskin garments and moccasins for rendezvous people and some of the Native American models that pose for old west artists,Leanin Tree,etc...
It's alot of fun,I think I enjoy making the old time outfits more than I do attending the events, that's more my Husband's thing,I like to haul out my horses and either ride or socialize with the few other gals that get drug out there by thier Husbands!
