I can not believe it is June 1st and this is what greeted me this am.

I am feeling just a little down at this point. All my plants are begging to be put into the garden, well, you can see that is still not possible here. It is 32degrees outside and we are expecting this unseasonably cold weather all week! Last year it was 72 straight days of rain and this year, well, it looks like snow!

May need to consider container gardening again this year. . . very depressing. . . even the chickens are looking at me saying " where's spring??"

Your view is BEAUTIFUL! I DO miss that! I watched Polyanna yesterday. HAve you seen it? She plays the Glad Game. She looks for something to be glad about in not so great situations. Your beautiful view is surely something to be glad about!

Oh my goodness! Snow! Well, I am so embarrassed...yesterday I was grouchy because it was in the sixties. I am so ashamed of myself. I will never complain about chills in the air again. Hang in there-I agree, you need a greenhouse...wow! Did you ask Mother Nature if she realized it was June? Guess that's just another good reason to snuggle.

Well, at least we know what to anticipate around here. . . as the saying goes " We have 9 great months of snowmobiling and 3 months of the trails not being to good! "

We are looking into a green house. We could heat it with our existing wood stove which is a plus. Shall see how well I do with sales this summer. If I do well, I will get my green house!

Hehee, Joanna, I sorta had to chuckle--girlie, you know you live in NEW HAMPSHIRE, right? Isn't that the highest point, besides Maine, in the Northeast? I'd be surprised if you DIDN'T Have snow right now!!

But yes, I agree with the others--greenhouse!!

Wow! That seems so hard to imagine snow when it's over 90 degrees here in N. Ga. I am so sorry you have to wait some more to get your plants in the groung. But you will soon enuf. The view is beautiful, even with snow.

Yes, it is NEW HAMPSHIRE, I do live at 2000' on the 45th parallel. . .
giggle... truly, I can not think of anywhere else I would rather be.
Just was feeling a little down yesterday and trying to move around inside our home with all these plants. . . well you get the picture! LOL!!

We have been seriously talking about a greenhouse. Just need to earn the money for the one I will have built. Since I will want a four season one, it will need to be specially built for our wonderful winters. . . with lots of snow!

Let's hope the tourists will return and are willing to spend a little money on my products too!

LOL We aren't having much better luck with the weather in Upstate NY. It's been unseasonably cool and lots of rain, day before yesterday we had what appeared to be hail but I think it was just really BIG snow. It's hard when you are waiting till the second week of June to get your garden in since the ground is still cold and the sun just isn't ready to make it's appearance for any length of time. Hang in there it does finally get better.

Thanks Lori! The only thing worse than starting late is knowing it will end early! We see snow by the end of september. . . last fall it was snowing on the 26th. At least everything grows at a fast pace once it is in the ground

I feel your pain. We too have long snowmobile seasons and very short growing season. Its hard sometimes to be patient when you want so bad to get going in the garden. I had been use to weather where you could practically grow outside nine months of the year. Just have to remind myself that I live here for the fresh air, the views (love yours)and the tranquility and then smile and plant more in starter pots and cover the whole kitchen table. LOL A greenhouse is a good idea. Hang in there.

Thanks Gail! I have the kitchen table, the work table, the floor and now in the living room too. . . covered with plants! Whether they are in growing trays or hanging baskets. . . the house feels like a green house now! My impatiens are blooming, the nasturtiums are growing like weeds( hope to see a few blooms anytime now), I am harvesting from the herbs already and debating whether to repot the tomatoes or just wait.

Really would like to put a small addition onto our home for our green house. . . will settle for whatever I can get

LOL!!! We had frost again last night, no snow so we are moving in the right direction. We have had hurricanes this far north. . . not as often as others that's for sure. . . the occasional tornado as well.
I will agree, I would rather the snow!!
