My horse has a big box stall and a nice sized run, so she gets turned out at least once a day for a couple hours to run and play in the arena.
Well today I went in and she was snorting and running around her stall in good spirits so I decided to let her be the next one to get to play.
When I let her out I had to shush her away so I could put up the electric lines that protect the barn door and even then she kept coming back to me (afterwards when I was standing up again).
It was so sweet! She had her freedom and could have run around as much as she wanted but she kept coming back to check in with me. I am back in the house so she can play without snuggling up to me. Such a sweet filly. Sometimes she acts silly- just like the 2 year old that she is, and sometimes she acts like an old reliable mare who just loves her people. I am even more in love. I have a big case of Horse Happiness!!
Don't you just love the way horses nuzzle up to you? I love horse breath--I even breathe into their nostrils when I greet them. when I was young I wanted a horse so bad--still do, but I can't afford one since i live in town and would have to pay to board it--ah, maybe someday... Cindy
Hay breath and that smoky-sweet scent that their manes get...I so love horses! I miss gentle head buts, nuzzles and horse hugs . Luckily my land lord's have a bunch so I get my horse fixes. Need one of my own! She sounds like such a sweetie!
Well I think I need to go spend some time in the barn tonight. Between banks, and Nora being not very helpful, and sick dogs my nerves are a bit frayed
Horsey hugs are the best. I am helping my DD recoop from her accident and will be staying until after she has her surgery but I sure do miss my horses. I love the way my big guy comes up behind me and lays his head over my shoulder and presses me against his chest. He always seems to know when I need a hug. And the other one always yanks my hat off or nudges me from behind. He just works to keep things light and fun. I sure miss them.
Winona- That is for sure! Today wasn't the greatest as I got 2 hours worth of hassel at the bank because I lost my ID...anyway I got home and got to smooch on Tala and give her some hugs and now my mood is all turned around! :D Love the horses, Love Life. Just gotta take the down hills with the up hills I guess!
