Good Morning All,
Life has been extremely challenging lately and I have to admit to falling into a depression the likes of which I have not seen in quite some time. sigh.
I have to remember that God does not give me more than I can handle and that when my plate is full, it's ok to sit back and digest for a while.
I pulled myself out of bed this morning and MADE myself go outside and walk. It is GORGEOUS!
The sky is blue and the birds are singing, the flowers are fragrant and all the trees are lush and green.
I looked up at the sky and thanked God as many times as I could think of it.
Guess what? Nothing has changed but something has shifted. I took care of my insides and I feel SO much lighter. I even jogged for about a 1/4 mile.
When all else fails, go take a hike. Breathe in and breathe out and look up instead of down.
I feel better.
Have a lovely, lovely day!

Good for you, Linda. I feel the same way about walking. It clears my head and gives me more energy.

I with you Linda - when the world seems to really be too much I put myself outside. Breath deep, listen to the wonderful sounds of the farm and country life. Then I walk on out to the animals. Chickens give me such purpose. They scratch around looking for the littlest of things that will fill them up - always with a mission. Then my goat kids playing in the pasture with not a care in the world. They know that everything is provided, they are loved for who they are and never worry if they are enough. Last are my Great Pry Dogs - unconditional love.... They watch over me and my four legged friends, thru the worst of weather and the biggest of prediators and in turn they are always ready to lend an ear...
I wish you all the best to everyone who read this and remember when you are outside you are that much closer to God.

Linda, I hope things continue to improve now for you. Try to get to CBG for a relaxing walk. It was beautiful there over the weekend. I hope your inner peace will continue to grow.

Thank you all for your wonderful uplifting comments. I guess being a farmgirl at heart we understand how vital it is to be outside. There's nothing quite like getting your hands in the dirt or wiggling your toes in dewey grass. Well except when slugs are present and then it's not so much fun! LOL

Isn't it funny, Linda, that when you went out and took a hike, it was like telling your depression to "take a hike"?!
Yep, God's creation is made for us to enjoy. I'm always thankful for what He has created but I don't get out and soak in it as much as I would like to. Thanks for the reminder of the healing properties of nature!

I glad that you are feeling better Linda. It's times when we are down that are most crucial to do things like make ourselves go outside to bask in God's creation and be reassured that He cares for us and loves us.
