Went to Burlington yesterday found the wonderful quilt, a grain painted mule chest, and the squirrel cage, had a wonderful time with the girls and got to watch little Violet while Jonnie was shopping. Oh I found the little sewing machine for 35.00. Havent had time to researh it. Little August was 3 and a half mos old here. As you cansee he is a big boy

Oh Miss Wilma! He is just ceeeeuuuuute!!! He looks so much like Brian, it's amazing! And what a loooong legged little fella. Adorable. I bet you could just take pictures of him all day long, couldn't you?
I'm so glad I finally got to see him!
And, Violet and I had so much fun hanging around with you, Sterl, Janice and David yesterday. You got some great pieces, and I got one heck of a sunburn!!!

Miss Wilma - okay, girl between us, we have two cute little men (isn't it interesting how when we have girls, we never say we have little women?) Our little Josiah looks very similar to your little guy. And I love the music on your blog.

No, I don't know what the little house is. Wish I could see it for real and turn it around. Does that apparatus next to it move? Is it an animal cage/house? Looks like it has been put together out of old metal, but is not real old itself. And I love the old chest and the quilt.

This is what happened Jeannie, when I first pulled in to Burlington I spotted this across from my booth. I knew what it was but had never seen one for sale, I went over and asked the price 250.00 I knew it was a good price but I thought I dont need to spend this, but knowing a good buy just overtook me. Well I carried back to my booth and Sterl asked me what I paid for it, When I told him he said well I think 50.00 would have been a good price. I came home and looked it up on google one price was 2499.99 another was 1500.oo, Now he doesnt want me to sell it . He really liked it but thought it was to high. It is a squirrel cage, they are rare, Yeah it is very old, is metal on a wooden board and dated 1891. The star cut outs make it unique, I have done sold the quilt. The mule chest has the original grain paint

Wish I could be sittin' in a chair in your sunny herb garden right about now, Wilma. It's such a pretty place. And all those great herb smells! ;)

What a wonderful glimpse of your adventures at the show! Your herb garden is beautiful, but oh that baby - what a cutie. Such a treat to see all the treasures you got.

I'm packing up and coming down right now, Wilma. This day is for the birds! Seriously, I'd just love to leave this basement office and sit in the sun with you.

Squirrel cage! I thought it was an animal cage, but I would have chosen another rodent! It looks like old metal, but made recently. That was an unusual find!!!! Good eye.
I have another friend who can spot things like that, and she recently (outside of Atlanta in the country) came across a big old heavy strong box with the words Cripplegate Mining Company, Colorado and a date which I forget on it. The box alone weighs fifty pounds. It was used in the gold mines, and she researched it and found out it was very rare, too. I just love to hear her stories and read yours.

So good to hear from you Frannie, I am telling you she is a little doll an exact replica of Jonnie. Brian and Ashley took little man for his 4 month ck up yesterday he weighed 18lbs and 15 oz. He is a big boy, not so fat just long and big boned. Little Violet is just like a little doll you want to hold and I have never in my life seen a baby that little or young do so much jabbering. She is such a good baby to. Little man can show off his lungs at times. Frannie you take real good care of yourself and we are planning on your being here for your crowning for Queen For The Day. I love your old truck with the bunnies, I found a neat old wagon and an old doll suit case full of old doll clothes this week end. I Love you Miss Wilma

miss wilma, i am ever hopeful that i will be able to make the trip to your wonderful home in the fall. i am glad you like my little bunny truck. we always had homemade toys and this truck is actually one of the ones my dad made for the grandchildren. when my sister and i were little we had wooden jeeps, and doll houses and many of my friends asked my dad to make them jeeps, even when we got to be adults.
here is a pic of everyones favoriet, a woody station wagon. he made this really i think in the late 40s before they even had my sister or me. now it lives in my dusty house, a chore that i guess i have given up since the breast cancer.

well, of course you know, we all felt very rich having him as our dad. when he retired he use to make wooden toys and drop them off anonymously at people front porches. he got such a kick out of doing that. he was a very dear fellow.
