Darn! My good old reliable Kirby is busted. Well, the beater bar is. The bearings slipped out a couple months ago on one side, but it was limping along okay. Well today it is back to making a huge racket which drives me crazy. So it looks like tomorrow I will be taking it in and getting a new beater bar. I am really upset- this beater bar is only about a year old! Hopefully this next one lasts longer!
Anyone else use an old kirby? Mine's back is that reddish orange color. I would love to have a new Kirby, or even a Dyson- but since this one works I guess I will keep using it!
We have an Electrolux. My husband had it before I even met him. (Just another thing that attracted me to him :)) We have had it since 1995 and have only needed to replace the hose which was only $7.00. I love it!

Wooo Hoo! I got the new beater brush and the dog hair has disappeared! I am about to go on a cleaning jag, but I wanted to check in with my favorite Ladies first!
Alee, just happened by your topic....I just got a rainbow----I love love love it. Very very pricey-----but powerful. I have a thing about seeing the results of my work----and yuk I see the results. Makes me know I have a clean house.
I wish Fuller Brush was still around----I like cleaning but I sure like the right gadgets to clean with.
Which reminds me, how often do you clean your dryer? Its the #1 cause of household fires....don't I sound like an ad?
have a good day. Beverly

Beverly- I have used Rainbows before and wow! I love them. But I won't be able to afford one for a few years. My next step up from my Kirby is going to be a Dyson. I am hoping to get one this fall.
