I know it isn't very "farmy" but just wondering. We will be going over to some friends and have mexican. I just made a huge batch of tamales. Tommorw I will make some fresh salsa. I, not being a football fan, will be taking handwork and sit an visit with my friends, while the "boys" watch the game. As we have church that evening, the remainder of the game will be taped and then after church we will come to our house and have ice cream while the boys finish the game. So, what are your game plans?

Hancock fabrics is having a 40% off sale when you donate canned goods, so I will be knee deep in fabric! But your party sounds like a lot of fun. Aubrey

Sorry, I don't like hockey..lol.
Thanks to Frannie I am totally addicted to making dollies! I have some that need some Sunday dresses made for them, so that will be tomorrow's project.
We had a terrific windstorm here all day so had no power. One of the downsides of living out in the sticks! So..I have some catching up to do. I did manage to practice some more spinning today by the window light and got a little bit better at it. Still have a ways to go...it's that coordination thing!

Purchased munchies for DH so he will be set for the big game. Weather is finally clearing out, so I will be spreading bone meal on all of the bulbs that are starting to sprout, planting some pansies and primroses for the front porch and making that a bit more "springy". Put out the steer manure/mulch on the veggie garden and turning that under to sit for a month or so. Filling bird feeders and then when the game starts, bought stuff to do mail art cards in the diningroom. Those are my plans.

My hubby is a sports fanatic. If he wasn't a broadcaster in Christian radio, he would be a sportscaster for tv or radio. He travels up to 3 hours to watch his high school football team play. High School football is huge in Texas. In his hometown, about 10,000 people show up to watch a Friday night game. And that's a medium size school. Bigger schools get even more people.
He normally likes to watch his tv sports at home alone. He doesn't like going to sports parties because he doesn't want to have to socialize....he just wants to watch the game uninterrupted. So, poor thing, he has to socialize tomorrow! His radio station is having a Super Bowl party in the station's conference hall. Listeners won the chance to be there. The station will also be having its own half time with a band and it will be aired live on the radio, too. Being the promotions director, he has to be there! Cruel punishment!
Me and the girls will be going to visit a friend and her kids. Her hubby has to work tomorrow, too. We plan to go horse riding, cook, eat, cook, eat, relax, cook, eat, and probably not even put the game on!

Absolutely nothing. I'm not a big football fan -- baseball's my game. However, since Seattle is playing I will probably watch the game.
Mine is just a little old fashioned garden where the flowers come together to praise the Lord, and teach all who look upon them to do likewise.

I will be ignoring it as best I can. My husband will be in the bedroom watching it the whole time I am sure...none of the kids are old enough to care. His team is the broncos so he isn't as "into it" as he would be if they were playing but he will still watch...and he made sure I picked up special snacks for him. I like baseball better too. I understand that game!!
I rented Ladies in Lavender today and I fully intend to enjoy that one while he watches football.

| Going up to my boyfriend's grandparents in Wisconsin. I don't like watching the game but I like visiting them. Plus, last year I won $22 somehow on squares.(?) I don't even know how I did it or how it works. |

We are having the whole clan here for a Superbowl party.First time EVER the Seahawks are in the Superbowl!!
I don't like football all that much but have learned to watch and enjoy my husband's enthusiasm (now that the kids are grown it is easier!)We will be having our traditional homemade chili and Seahawk nuggets for the kiddies with blue and green ketchup!! (team colors) |

DH is out of town and ds is off at college, so it will be a bit different this year -- usually we all watch it together and eat tons of junk food  . DD and I are going to do things together tomorrow after church, and then we're planning to watch the game and give each other pedicures, etc.

Greetings everyone!! I am so not a sports fan of any kind. But my husband is completely addicted. My girlfriend called me last week and told me I'm having a SuperBowl Party; biggest tv and most space.. Ok, party?! I'm in....love it. I'm making chili, using beans I grew myself..very beautiful bean mix..grilled chicken nachos..and for the more healthy consciencious..roasted beets and carrots with blue cheese crumbles, garden salad, ham spring rolls( cooked the ham yesterday and chopped up carrots, onion, garlic and broccoli), and finally little sandwiche type things on bread I baked (amish recipe that is do die for) with home-made roasted red pepper spread, and ham mixed with fresh parsley...Any of you want to come on over?? lots of beer and wine too..should be fun!! I plan to play with the kids and sew..Go Seahawks!! warmly, Julia Hayes

I'm watching because it's Seattle, and they usually have funny commercials during the SB, but football isn't really my thing.

The Superbowl will come on at 8am here .. I will be getting up early as another foreigner (he's American) in our building wants to come over to watch it for a while before he goes to work. We joked about having the usual beer and munchies that early in the morning, but I think we'll settle for plain orange juice. I will likely go back to bed after he leaves... hehee.

Our son Jonas is staying with us while he is 'between apartments' so he wants to fix lots of goodies. He and his dad will watch it. I want to go to the nursery and the book store since football isn't my favorite sport either.

I don't like football. BUT, because it is the Seahawks and they are from our state and the underdogs (GO HAWKS!), I am secretly hoping they win and will actually care what the outcome score is this time!
If I have any TV on, it will be "The Puppy Bowl" on Animal Planet (= adorable). I was on the other side of town, checking out the animal shelters for my ex's lost dog (sigh), then did a few things with my mom, and was AMAZED at how dead it was out for a Sunday afternoon when I was coming home. I think LOTS of people are watching the game!
I hope everyone has a good Sunday afternoon and evening, whatever you're up to!

Poor Hawks.. they fought hard though. Today was the first Football game I ever sat through... it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I'd still rather keep it a once a year thing.

The men in our group were down after the game. Hawks did well to get this far. Hopefully this will put them on a roll for years to come!

I'm with you MNFarmgirl~~ I went to Hancock fabrics and was there at 10:30..Problem~~they didnt open till 12!!
Anyway-got the sweetest novelty fabric...theme: coffee...Going to make aprons out of them! Will be sooo cute~~
I watched the game too~~ but would have rather been home sewing~~
