I do have a PayPal account - I've only used it a couple of times so I'd have to refresh my memory on how to do it... The news from Wyoming is not so good this morning. He woke up in the night with a terrible fever and still has it this morning. He is on antibiotics, but is still burning up. I talked to him a moment and he was trying to find the hospital phone number to give them a call - seems kind of addle headed - must be the pain medication. I hope that doesn't mean another trip to the hospital. Alee - you're my all-things-computer specialist. What do I need to know about my PayPal account? I set it up when I had Etsy, but it's sat dormant for awhile.

I hope that the fever goes down. It sounds like he is having a really awful time of it. I'm hoping that he feels better soon and that the leg heals cleanly

Sherri - I hope Cody got ahold of the hospital. I know he doesn't want another trip to the hospital but he could have infection in the wounds in his leg. I don't want to alarm you but that is one of the complications that my partner had. Is he in a cast or a leg brace? Which bones in the leg did he break? I will keep him in my prayers.

I hope he got ahold of the hospital too. They haven't put on the permanent cast yet - they were shooting for Friday on that, depending on swelling. He has a blow-up cast of some sort - he said they also wanted to be able to treat the wounds before they put on a permanent cast. He broke the bones in his lower leg. He was already feeling so down and useless this morning when he called. That may turn out to be a major issue - he's a very active person.

Sherri - I know how that one goes too. It's really hard on them to just hang out. Men in general aren't very good patients. But an active one...Let's put it this way, driving the tractor with his leg on a pillow during haying....some just can't deal with hanging out very well. I hope you hear from him soon and that the prognosis is good.

Just got off the phone with him. He still has the fever - but the nurse at the hospital told me it wasn't a concern unless it runs consistently about 101.5. He says it's been running right around 100.5, and it sounds like he's checking it often, so so far so good. On a more humerous note, he called to ask how his gf should wash the quilt I made him 3 Christmas's ago - I told him how, then I asked the obvious question "Is this the first time you've washed it?" He said "Yeah, it's was in pretty good shape until I got this fever." Good shape - 3 years? Oh my!

Glad to hear that he's doing ok today. Aren't boys a kick when it comes to the details of cleaning anything (except their vehicles that is).

He'd probably say "sheets? what are sheets?"When I stayed at his house last summer, he gave me his bed and he was using the quilt as a bottom sheet - gross now that I think of it! LOL He really is a very clean guy - about his person. When he was a teenager I thought he was going to put us in the poorhouse with his incessant showering. I took a trip with him a year ago and when we checked into the motel for the night (1 night), he unpacked his suitcase and put his clothes in the closet and drawers, then folded them nicely the next day and put them back in the suitcase. Surprisingly, he kept his apartment (pre-girlfriend) pretty nice too. Guess to wash the quilt just never occurred to him!

My son is now living on his sailboat and cruising around. His girlfriend came to visit and went on a sail with him. Eric wrote that she had arrived and brought sheets and he no longer can call his boat a bachelor pad! What he would do is just through his sleeping bag on the bed. JoAnn |

Yea Eric is the rock climber. He was the one who dislocated his shoulder while climbing Smith Rock in Oregon. He was dangling from the rope and they had to pull him up. Then he had to walk all the way down with the dislocated shoulder till they came to where they put a stretcher. Now while they didn't just lower him I don't know: ) He left all his climbing gear here while he's on the boat--maybe I should hide it: ) JoAnn P.S. I think we should start a new forum topic called Why Mothers Worry! |

Please remember Cody in your prayers again - he is really depressed now - as I knew he would be. Awfully hard for someone like him to sit around the apartment day in and day out - I have reminded him how lucky he is to be alive and that he is blessed, but the financial reality of this accident, coupled with not being able to leave the apartment all day is really dragging him down. Thank you for your prayes and healing thoughts.

So sorry to hear of his depression. Did his fever finally abate? Being depressed after such an accident is really common and not just for highly active people either. I think the trauma to the body and all the pain meds really do a number in that regard. Of course the why me's kick in as well. How long will he be off of work? Did they finally cast the leg yet? Hope things go well for him. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

It's definately partly the pain meds - I can hear it in his voice - kind of slurred. I hate that but I know he has no choice as he is still in a lot of pain. He said he still has the fever in the morning but he's continuing to take the antibiotics. Not sure how long he's going to be off work - the doc said no weight on it for six weeks, so at least that long. thanks for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers.
