Hi farm sisters, Last summer I rented a cooler and bought Culligan water delivered. I am thinking about getting it again this year. I paid only about $20 a month. My reasoning is that it is always cool. My little boy can help himself. Of course it tastes good. Also, the bad things I hear about the individual water bottles and re-using them. My city water is supposed to be safe but many people won't drink it. Anyone have any feedback?

We all get heavier as we get older, because there's a lot more information in our heads. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

My village water is great, I heard the draw back is there is no floride in the water and that is suppose to be good for little one's teeth. I'm not 100% sure on that.

Hi Diane, thanks for the response...I am surprised to not see any more responses or opinions on this topic. The water dispenser of always cold and handy for my 8 yr old works good for us in the summer. It tastes good and we drink more water and less other drinks too.

Drinking water is really hard for me to do. I judt don't like to drink, I love milk. The doctor told me if I can't get 8 glasses of water a day I better get at least 5 so I try. I'm also surprised that you didn't get a lot of responses. I think everyone is busy so they only answer topics that are really important to them, I bet they all drink water and maybe out of those plastic bottles that no one wants to admit to. Have a great day.

I have heard that "anything is better than city water" but I also know that some cities have good water and I don't mind the taste of this water. My first reason to get the Culligan was the left over drugs from bowel movements were still in the water after it was purified for cities. yuk...that included anti-depressants, etc. Of course bottled spring water sure sounds better than that. I am not impressed with what florides can or cannot do...as far as I am concerned it's another chemical. Any more opinions?

At our old house we had HORRIBLE water. It tasted musty and I couldn't stomach drinking it. I hated using it in any fashion- even bathing in it was gross. But we didn't have the money to spend on the Culligan water or anything like that. Here at this new place it is great! Some days I can tell it has a little more chlorine in it so we don't drink a whole lot on those days, but usually it is just nice and fresh.
I would love to have one of those water coolers from Culligan- but Nora would find some way to tip it over or would just sit the and hold the tap on. So I think until she gets just a tad older- we will make do with the tap. I might buy a britta filter jug for the fridge though.

I did hear that the Britta filter works good too. I only had to pay about $20 a month for the Culligan so it was worth it compared to the bottled water and sometimes sode I would be tempted to buy. Soon I will be getting the stainless steal cups too. I forgot to tell ya that Alf said when he was in Afghanistan the guys got real sick from the plastic bottles of water. So they proved that the plastic DOES have the danger of sickness/poison. They learned the hard way and he won't use plastic bottle now and I don't want to either. I think that's good information to share. There are other companies that deliver water and rent the coolers, either hot and cold or just cold and room temp. There is a safety latch for children on the hot button for little ones like Nora and also it's too heavy to be pushed over easy. I did have a neighbor who brought over her baby and he she could not keep him from pouring its water out...fun game. lol

even though we have well water, there is still a distiller unit on the kitchen sink. It makes the water more purified even than the well water. It is nice and cold and comes out crystal clear. I don't care for water much, but have to drink it just the same. We fill up gallon jugs from the purifier at a time to take home and use as we need.
Water gives me heart burn. ;) hugs
