I started taking prenatals not too long ago as a vitamin supplement. My normal vitamins werent working right, and I wanted something for that extra help and boost. I was wondering though, does taking those vitamins give you hormones swings? I have noticed for about the week and a half that ive taken them (only twice) that I have really bad emotional problems. I am super sad all the time, I feel irrational fears, and panic attacks. They aren't triggered by my surroundings or anything else like that, that I've noticed. Things that never bothered me for are consuming my thoughts. I am not sure how to get these irrational thoughts and emotionals under control. Ive talked to DH about it all and he says everything I am worrying over, he isnt worried about and he doesnt think I have reasons to be so consumed. Also, my eating habits and tummy are not right. I am never hungry and then all of a sudden will be starving. I get dizzy a lot and light headed.
Is it possible this could all be from these vitamins??

Yes, You also sound like you are going through some blood sugar issues. My daughter is awful when her blood sugar is low as are all the little girls you really know when it is snack time when they are here. The amount of some of the Vit and Min are for 2 and your body is not prepared to handle both doses. And are you trying to get Pregnant or just using up to use up? What makes you think you need a vitamin?

Diana-- I do have blood sugar problems normally. I am taking the prenatal vitamins because I was feeling tired and sluggish almost all the time. The regular vitamins didnt do a thing. I always did well with the prenatals, so I thought if I used those, that they would help. This swing is wicked though. I am not sure how to get it leveled out. This morning, I took another dose of the prenatals, without thinking much of it. Then when my BP started giving me hot flashes and I was ready to bawl at a moments notice and couldnt get these thoughts anymore under control, I figured I must have pinpointed them as the culprit but I didnt know if it was their thoughts.
Should I chuck them in the trash? I gotta get an on evil keel before I go insane. There are times this passed week, where I could swear I was on the brink of it.

The prenatals always made my girls sick. However I do agree that it sounds more like blood sugar problems.
If you are looking for a better "boost" might try Source of Life liquid vitamins. I have delt with CFS and these really help. Also vitamins in pill forms do not get absorbed into the body as well as liquid vitamins...

Jessie how old are you? I really think you need a blood test but things that will help are you getting enough sleep are you eating good fruits vegs whole grains whats your stress level like. What are your periods like your might be low in iron. Snacking every 2 hours is not out of the question. But bottom line is if you don't feel right a doctor is in order.

Diana-- I am 28.I sleep pretty well, I know I don't eat right though. I am trying but its a lot easier to grab a cheese burger than to actually make something. Stress is still pretty high. My husband still doesn't have a full time job, and I have a two year old and three year old. I'm not complaining though---Im just saying is all. :) My periods are always right on schedule but they are never the same. The last one was hardly there at all but the one before that was super heavy. I am seriously thinking over the dr. I haven't had problems like this since I was a teenager. If I could get a hold on it, it wouldn't be so bad, but this ones been a real kicker.
hugs!!

You can get blood sugar strips from the local pharmacy. They check your blood sugar levels by you peeing on the strip.
Could be a combo of stress and not taking care of yourself too..
You can help blood sugar levels by eating several small healthy meals a day. Good protein, good carbs. If you go too long between meals blood sugar levels can crash. If you eat too many bad carbs ( sugar, white flour) blood sugar levels go up and then crash down.
I prepare my mini meals at night. Soy protein drink in morning. 1/2 slice whole grain bread with 1 tsp peanut butter mid afternoon. 1/2 turkey sandwich & fruit for lunch. ect.... I will usually have fruit for afternoon... Lots of fluids too
