Come visit my blog and see a suitcase that I decoupaged for my next sewing adventure. Fun and unique.

I love it! We have an old suitcase in the basement just sitting around. I'm going to put my girls to work on it. What a great idea. Our resale shop has loads of patterns - I think I'll make a stop there today.

Now, what to do to get the weird "old" stench out of the suitcase?

I would rub and then put fabric softner sheets inside and close it up. I had one that was really bad and this seemed to work well. Then open it up and let the sun hit it for a little while.

Oh Bonnie, I love what you are doing in your craft room. I have this adorable little girl victorian playhouse that I turned into my sewing room and am trying to do the same kind of organizing that you are. It's working! I've made two microwave potato bags and a tea cosy with things I "discovered". Yesterday, I discovered just the right color fabric to crochet a rug for the bathroom. No telling what else I have in there! I use jars too because I can't abide things I can't see through (must be old age).

For everyone who told me, I really do love it here! Keep up the good work.

Oh how cute is that? Thanks so much for sharing :)

I wonder if you tried putting a couple of drops of essential oil with some baking soda, sprinkled it in the suitcase and let it set for awhile if that would help.
