And I should know, because I'm going through that right now (5 weeks along). This smoothie is great because it's not too acidic and brings your blood sugar up so you don't feel sick.

1 banana, peeled and sliced
1 mango, peeled and cubed
4 ice cubes
1/2 cup orange juice

Put in blender. Blend. Sip slowly.

When I was pregnant with my 2nd the ONLY thing I could keep down were plain bean burritos from Senior Froggies.. to this day I can't even go in that establishment because I associate it with feeling so ill... They say beans are high in folic acid and B6 and that may have been why they helped.

There is a book that is great for eating healthy during pregnancy including excercises and stretches that are supposed to help you deliver easier. It's called Danice Austins ultimate pregnancy book. It helps to address all kinds of gastrointestinal fun that you may be dealing with soon. It also has a chapter on eating right for nursing and after baby shape up... hmm I think I'm going to re-read that part :)

Take care, and congratulations!!

Bobbi

you can be oh so smart, or you can be oh so positive. I wasted a lot of time being smart I prefer being positive.

Oh my, can I sympathize with morning sickness! I had it morning, noon and night for the entire pregnancy. Hope yours tapers off soon. Perhaps mine lingered because I was under the impression that chocolate was the only cure...

I get it at all hours, too. It's killing my desire for...um...intimate time with my husband, too, which I hate. Last night I felt awful and the only thing I could manage for dinner was miso soup.

The good news is I don't actually vomit. I just feel like I'm going to.

Oh, you poor gals. I'm so sorry. I'm one of those incredibly few people who doesn't suffer from morning sickness. Anything with ginger is said to help. Some people find solace in gingerale (though I couldn't drink carbonized beverages during pregnancy, or I got heartburn) and ginger snaps. Best of luck, and hope you're feeling better soon.

I was very lucky that way too..just a couple weeks of the morning sickness first thing in the morning and crackers would usually help. But the heartburn..oooh..boy did I have that. And I craved oranges with my second son...that sure didn't help!! I hope it gets better soon. Heck the smoothie sounds great to me and I am way beyond morning sickness!!
