I live in Ashville, AL, about a half-hour from Birmingham and an hour-half from Atlanta. Alabama is the best! We have mountains, farmland, and beaches! The summers can be hot, but the winters are mild. I don't know how you northern and western girls handle all that snow and short growing seasons! We have 39 acres that I'd love to populate with chickens, goats, and bees, but the hubs is wanting to sell in the next year or two. (He's getting the itch to build another house!) So, if ya'll know of anyone interested in a log cabin with privacy and a view on acreage, give me a holler!

I live in myrtle beach currently, but am moving to asheville nc shortly. My fiance and i have kicked around the idea moving farther out west. We can only see what the future holds on that. Ideally i would love to have a little farm with lots of plants and animals. perhaps its a dream, but hopefully one that will come true.

i love how many Karens (and Karins) i see on here.

Have a good evening from another Karen

I live in South Central KY, our county borders the TN line. Lots of mountains here. In fact, our area is refered to as "The Little Mountains", some are not so little. I love it here and have been here ever since I can remember. Nothing like the mountains of KY.

I live in a small college town (3 lights) with a pop of about 10.000 and another 10,000 when school is in. Really quiet in the summer. I live outside town on 13 acres of scrub land. I grow alphalfa on about 9 and sell it. No work for me...:) I am about 30 minutes from Spokane and love my 103 year old house!

I live in a tiny mountain town of about 450 folks 45 minutes NE of Boise. We have 2 mom&pop type groceries, 1 gas station, a few restaurants, 2 bars, a nurse practitioner, chiropractor and a dentist. No stop lights at all. I think we do have 4 stop signs, though! We are surrounded by national forest so, there is lots to do if you love the outdoors! Our summers aren't too hot and very low humidity (I so love that part) and get tons of snow in winter. I am a transplant from WNY so, the snow is no big deal to me but living without the humidity is so nice.

I live on the east coast near Wilmington NC.Sneads Ferry is an old fishing village that has been invaded by developers and retiree's of which I am one. I actually moved here from Mt.Olive about 70 miles away. We have been coming here( Topsail Island) across the intercoastal waterway from Sneads Ferry, most of our lives for weekends and vacations. We sold our island home and moved across the water to Sneads Ferry back in 04. We now live on Chadwick Bay across from Topsail Island. It is very quiet here and somewhat rural. Just over the bridge to the island and it is rockin in the summer and several movies have been made including recently,Nights in Rodanthe, which is a town in the Outer Banks. Forty five minutes to Wilmington which is a beautiful historic town on the Cape Fear River & coast.Lots of movies made there as well as tv,Dawsons Creek, One Tree Hill.,etc Jacksonville is about 20 minutes the other way and is a Military, marine, town.

Sherry I grew up on South Shore of Tahoe - my parents moved there in the late '30's. I have a cousin in fallon and a sister in gardnerville. My cousin is a mine inspector for the state of Nevada. Do the wild horses get into your garden and cause problems with your landscaping as they do my sisters?
