Yeah, I finally found it. I was out back just now hanging towels out on the line and heard a hen clucking the egg laying song. I have heard this same hen do that before and have gone out there and looked all around but never have seen anything. So I went out there and looked again. I had chickens out there in the goat barn before and have a wire nester in one of the stalls. The other chickens stopped laying once and I finally found a few nests under the long bench thing. So I justed looked under there and found a nest with 16 eggs in it. One still warm! So I took them all but one and I'll check again tomorrow.
I am just absolutely thrilled to have found the eggs and to know that at least one hen is laying. It's been cool lately so I hope they are all good. I will crack them in a separate bowl before I use them.
So all you who have hens that have quit laying, keep lookin'!

I just realized it was kinda like an easter egg hunt for old folks! I always did like to hunt Easter eggs. I just don't like to have to get down on my knees and bend over. It's too darn hard to get back up again.

I did not get any yesterday. They must have gotten mad and moved again. Darn ole chickens. That's the only bad part of free-ranging chickens. It's always an egg hunt. It could be this awful weather we're having, too.

We had snow, rain, sunshine today.. No eggs all week... & the darn Golden girl is still sitting on her nest with no eggs under her.. I guess I need to go for an Egg hunt before dark...or after dark to Kristins House...

Ha! It must be warm in that nest, Cheryl. I did find another egg in the nest out back and also in the hen house on the shelf today! Good luck on finding eggs. Just listen for "the song" and then see where she's at. The egg has to be close by.

Sounds like my chickens. I have a hen that is sitting on only one egg. I was getting lots of eggs and then they moved their nest. Now I have to start looking for them again. Happy Hunting!
