Hi Ladies..
I have just finished reading all Jan Karon's books and absolutely adored them. Can any of you suggest an author who writes similar style books??
Blessings!

Hey, Christy! I can't think of an author that would really be in the same vein as Jan Karon. Jeanette Oke is the only one I can think of. You could check out the reading lists of people on amazon who like Jan Karon's work.

Mitford series are nice aren't they. I love Janette Oke, and Beverly Lawrence too, even though they are way different from Jan Karon. But you might like those too :)

Thanks Ladies! I really loved the Mitford Series. I just hate that I have to wait till Oct 2010 till the next book comes out in the Father Tim Series.

There's an author - Katherine Valentine, I think (I know the last name is Valentine) who has written 3 or so books in a similar vein. I really enjoyed them, another one is Philip Gulley - his are very funny, he is a Quaker minister and his books are about a Quaker minister, I gave one to my mom who is a minister ( not quaker though) and she loved it. Oh cool thanks! I don't know about ya'll but I've really have had a hard time lately finding a good book. I went to Target's book dept looking for one, every book on the shelf was either about someone who's loved one's died, war, adultery, and anything else sad/depressing! I enjoy escaping the world's problems when I read not fall into a depression, I can turn on the news for that.

Two authors I really like are Debbie Macomber and Jennifer Chiaverini. Jennifer Chiaverini writes the Elm Creek Quilts series and they are wonderful. I'm reading one of Debbie Macomber's books right now called "The Shop on Blossom Street" and it's really good. Both authors write heart-warming books.

I've enjoyed books by Barbara Bickmore, She wrote The Moon Below and my favorite, East of the Sun. Good story lines about strong women set in diffrent periods of time.
